Well, I do think it's kinda stupid trying to pass off this kid as kevin, but where as I would never see the first one, I'm seriously considering renting this one! :) I'll have to tell you all what I think of it.

The first film is a classic. You should rent it for Christmas. :)

Agreed. It's a must see every Holiday season, IMO. As a matter of fact, it's one of my five all-time favorite Holiday films.

How's that for a testimonial?

When I was a kid, I idolized Kevin. Me and my friend made our own amaturish (non-dangerous, mind you) booby traps for any robbers that might try to get in the house. 8)

I'll have to pick the first one up on DVD soon.

Never bothered to watch HA4. And guess what: I never will. Ain't that a shocker?

I cried my eyes out at the end of this movie.

A disgrace to the Home Alone franchise.

It was TERRIBLE, perhaps the WORST movie Ive ever seen.
Makes Home Alone 3 look like a PERFECT film.

EVERYTHING was wrong.
The entire movie, no laughs for me.
I cant get through 3 MINUTES of Home Alone 1 or 2 without laughing my ass off.

The HOME ALONE cow has been milked dry.

So much for Kevin as an adult, and his daughter home alone....

Probably better to wait at this point. Fox has said that an SE is in the works, and the DVD is pretty bad (it was released during Fox's non-anamorphic period). It just looks a little better than VHS, I'd say. Meanwhile, the French Stewart one gets a 16x9 transfer and it was made-for-TV.

I agree with Indianajdp - Home Alone, Scrooged, A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Santa Clause, ALF's Special Christmas, Mickey's Christmas Carol - okay, maybe it's not the most selective selection...but all of these get play for the holidays.

Thanks for the info Luke. I've seen the current DVD before, but wasn't aware of its specs or when it was released.

Now I will wait.
