Yeah!! Two more to add to my collection. One of these days all of the unreleased classic Disney movies will be available once again. I hope Disney keeps it up. Thank you Disney.

What is DMR?

DMR is Disney Movie Rewards. In the section of their website where you can reclaim a missing code ,there is a list all titles that contain DMR points. Often, titles are added to that list before they are publicized on the Disney Movie Club website.

But these are not new - they have been released before!

Condorman, Castaway Cowboy, and The Littlest Horse Thieves were all released via Anchor Bay on DVD. Condorman and The Littlest Horse Thieves were in Widescreen on Anchor Bay DVD. Castaway Cowboy, unfortunately, was not. My guess is that we will get the same transfers...Castaway Cowboy (1.33:1) and The Littlest Horse Thieves (1.85:1). I'll still probably get both of them, but would appreciate it if Disney released their films in the OAR. Thankfully Condorman is indeed in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio on the DMC disc.

Wild Country, Smith and Scandalous John were not previously available in any DVD distribution. Wild Country was released in fullscreen per the DMC and I'm assuming that these other Brian Kieth vehicles will be released fullscreen as well which is unfortunate. Scandalous John is an absolutely gorgeous picture and would benefit from proper framing.

Great news on all of these DMC Exclusives. I'm still hoping for Mr. Boogedy and Bride of Boogedy discs this Halloween :)

I meant that they are going to be in print and made available for purchase from an official source. Yes some of them were in print years ago, but they now sell only as used copies and sometimes for very high prices due to the the fact that they're out of print. So, again, I'm very glad that Disney is making these and other titles available for purchase.

Now, if only Disney could get the aspect ratios right. Condorman is listed on the dvd case as 2.35:1 widescreen but the print catalog lists it as fullscreen. I haven't yet played it to learn which is right. Big Red and The Incredible Journey were both labeled as 1.33:1 fullscreen on the dvd cases, but the disc contains anamorphic widescreen versions.

Did you mean that The Littlest Horse Thieves and The Castaway Cowboy are listed on the DMC website, not the DMR website? I looked under the DVD section of the Rewards section and didn't find them, so I cleared my cookies, and still, no luck. I have enough to redeem for a DVD, and I have been saving my points for a title I want more than the ones offered, and these are 2 titles that I want. I was all excited when I read your post, but I can't find them on the DMR website. :(

Blackcauldron85, the titles are not yet available, but they will be available for purchase from the Disney Movie Club in the near future. You can find the source by following the steps I described five posts above this one. Titles are listed alphabetically, but Disney Movie Club Exclusive titles are listed under D for DMC.

Personally I'm disappointed in the Disney Movie Club. To release widescreen feature films in full-frame is a little behind the times and disrespectful to the customer. Even kids are watching widescreen TV's now. The decision-makers at Disney's home video branch are just oblivious.

I recommend The Wild Country in any case. A wonderful film.

I gotcha, gardener14- I had read your previous post, but it didn't register. I'll keep a look out for when they're available- thank you! :)

I finally checked out my new Condorman disc. It is in fact widescreen, but it is non-anamorphic. Why can't Disney make these discs for the 21st century, especially in a time when they are pushing the latest technology such as Blu-ray with other titles. At least make the DMC exclusives in the proper ratio and designed for modern televisions (and this is coming from someone who currently has a standard old tv).

At least Big Red and The Incredible Journey are anamorphic widescreen (even though the boxes incorrectly state that they are 1.33:1).

Yay! I am excited for both of those.

And have a great trip in Paris. Are you going to Disneyland Paris while you are there?

That was the original plan, however we didn't have enough people sign up so we're doing something else.

Both Scandalous John and Smith! are available for sale now. The website lists Scandalous John as being 2.35:1 and Smith! as 1.78:1. If that is true and if both are anamorphic, maybe someone over there is listening to us?

I'd like confirmation that they really are widescreen before I place an order. It would also be cool if "The Wild Country" turned out to be widescreen as well and is just mislabled like "Big Red" and "The Incredible Journey" were. Probably too much to hope for. Screencaps would be nice if anyone is so inclined to oblige :P

Yeah. I also own The Wild Country and can confirm that it is in fullscreen. I will let you all know when my DVDs arrive and confirm whether those ratios are correct.

If Smith and Scandelous John are in fact widescreen, I hope they are anamorphic like Big Red and The Incredible Journey...(unlike the recent release of Condorman which is non-anamorphic widescreen).
