Unfortunately, I missed out on the ride. They were busy refurbishing it for The Simpsons Ride on my first visit.

Well, I'm a huge BTTF geek. Here's my ranking:

1) Back to the Future
2) Back to the Future II
3) Back to the Future III

I guess my ranking is kind of predictable but it's the same way I feel about the Matrix trilogy. Back to the Future is as fun a movie as you could get from the 80's. Heck, its the best time travel movie ever. The characters, story, one-liners, and music are all iconic. I really have trouble finding faults with the original. The sequel is kind of a mess but its so much fun to see the future sequence (2015) and alternate "Biff" reality. It gets a little redundant towards the end but the future sequence alone makes it worth watching. The third one was always my least favorite. As much as a like Sergio Leone westerns and the comedy Zemekis threw in, it just didn't "feel" enough like a BTTF movie. The ending was good though, everything really paid off.

Being the fan I am, I road the Back to the Future Ride all the time. It was a little jerky, but other then that, it had the same humor and fun you'd expect from BTTF (plenty of "buttheads" to be sure). I was extremely disappointed to hear they were replacing the attraction, claiming it was an old franchise, with The Simpsons (now celebrating 20 years). I road The Simpsons Ride and it was just OK to me (much like the series has become, just OK). BTTF The Ride just seemed so much more realized and I really miss it. I know that Universal put the ride film and it's pre-shows on the most recent BTTF DVD release and I'm hoping to see it on the upcoming Blu-ray release. Then I'll just need to buy myself a Delorean and rock it back and forth to the action on screen.

Taking it even further, I bought the Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure game on the Gamecube (terrible game) and played the Back to the Future segment. Actually pretty enjoyable segment (very short) and it replicates the ride pretty good.

Looking forward to a Blu-ray release.
