Yes, but they did issue official replacements for Silly Symphonies AND True Life Adventures discs, so they must pay attention sometimes. I went to the trouble of getting a replacement for my Mickey set in the hopes that it was only certain ones that had the problem. Was so disappointed when the replacement arrived with the same issue.

I see UD posted the cover art for these for April 7:

A question about Mickey and the Beanstalk, that's just the featurette off of Fun and Fancy Free right?

Thru the Mirror can also be found on the Alice Special Edition. I believe Three Blind Mousketeers is on The Rescuers (or is there a second short called Three Blind Mice?). Also, either Ye Olden Days, or Knight For A Day is on the old Sword and the Stone dvd or perhaps both shorts.

I'm rather torn, I'd love to get the Old King Cole, Three Little Pigs, Gulliver Mickey, Big Bad and Three Little Wolves...and perhaps Brave Little Tailor on dvd. As well the supposed lithographs are enticing but I'm not sure I'd want to pay 20+ dollars for these considering my lack of money to get other dvds I'm behind on.

Suggestions?

Are you a Disney Movie Club member? If so, you could just wait until they have a 50% or 60% off sale and buy them then...

Or you could ask for them as presents...? Or you could do online surveys and use any money you make to buy them?

I'm not a member, no credit card :)

I'll try the other two suggestions though, thanks Ames :)

So, now that we know the Mickey and the Beanstalk in this collection will be the Ludwig version, will any of you buy it just to get that version? I can't recall what the first half of this Wonderful World of Color episode was about (though I might have it on tape somewhere; was it Truth About Mother Goose?), but I hate it when they only provide half an episode, even if the first half is a clip show. So, I'm kinda torn on whether I should buy this or wait for Ludwig to get some decent releases (maybe a Treasures set...).

Is anyone able to provide a picture of the Lithographs? That (aside from the DMR points) are what's interesting me the most.

Also, do we know what shorts appear on which dvds? (aside from the two we have reviews of already) that info would be appreciated :)

/facepalm Can't believe I missed that page......thanks Scaps :D

I think I'll definatley pick up the Wind in the Willows, simply because I have none of the shorts listed on it, and doubt I will be able to get them (unless I get a credit card and order the treasures online).

Has anyone gotten this yet? I would like to know if the Disc Art is the plain grey that Disney has been putting on some discs lately (the answer is probably yes :( )

I bought the first three volumes today. I just do not feel like paying a fortune to get the OoP treasures.

From what the UD reviews tell me...no.

They have nothing in the way of Bonus features and the Audio/Video is worse then what is found on the Treasures, sporting "Pan and Scan" video. I have Mickey Mouse in Living Color 2, so I already have superior versions of Mickey and the Beanstalk and Prince and The Pauper. Although, I could see someone buying Volume 2 (MatB) because it is the Ludwig Von Drake version, whereas the Edgar Bergen version is on the Treasures DVD. (which is my personal favorite of the 3 versions)

The only other reason I could see to buy them is if you really love lithographs.

God, I remember watching Mickey and the Beanstalk like it was nobodies business when I was a little kid. I probably won't buy this though. :/

I had the Ludwig narration from an old, old vhs version of "Beanstalk." Has the Sterling Holloway version ever been made available on home video? In the 70s I had a book/record version of it that had the Holloway narration--much superior to Ludwig's IMO.
