TheForce.net reports that, according to an interview in UK's Times magazine with stunt coordinator Nick Gillard, the lightsaber duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode III will be the longest fight ever in a film.

I got the Jedi style from all the great sword styles. Only about 12 people on Earth know it and can read the moves off the page. But I invented it, so I can beat them all, though Hayden Christiansen, who plays Darth Vader, is the toughest. The skill is mostly balance and having your feet in the right place. In the next film, Ewan [McGregor] has more than 1,000 moves, which are more complicated to learn than dialogue. The climactic fight scene is, at 12 minutes, the longest fight scene in cinema history.

In related news, on Friday, leaked behind-the-scenes footage from "Episode III" hit the Web and we've received numerous e-mails from fans who had nothing but positive things to say about it. TFN says that the footage came from a meeting between Target executives and the marketing team from Lucasfilm. A lot of the duel mentioned above is shown in the footage and while we can't link to it here, you can browse around to see how you can get a copy.

I am very excited about the movies coming out. I am sure I will buy them however they come out. That said, I would much rather prefer them to come out as 2 disc sets, just like the Episodes 1 and 2 have thus far, and am assuming how Episode 3 will be. That would be great. Will seem funny having 1,2,4,5,6 and no 3 yet. I always figured they would come out after the first 3 were done...

That was the original plan, to release them AFTER Episode III, but plans can change. I think that we will be seeing a re-release of them in the future in a massive set like the Alien Quadrilogy. Remeber those Alien movies were all previously released in a 4 disc set, then they got around to putting together the real set, so I hope they plan on doing the same with SW.

at this point, I really don't care much about getting the dvd set of the original Star wars Trilogy, why you ask?

if you know how slimy Mr LUCAS is, by the time Episode III is release on dvd, I bet that guy would release a box set that has ALL 6 movies in one.. even though it might take a billion years in the making.. it will happen and will definitely have more features and extras

Ugh? Slimey? LOL, I guess Fox is slimey for releasing an additional Aliens set too? Come on now...

He is really stuck in one of those "damned if you don't, damned if you do" situations. Everyone wants the movies on DVD right now, but the massive box set isn't ready and won't be until after Ep 3. If he releases it now, people are happy but complain about lack of extras and complain about a future re-release. If he waits and does it right, then people will be happy in the future but will continue complaining for years until they get it.
