Wow. Never even paid attention to this thread until now. Glad that I did, as I'm looking forward to it now.

 That looks pretty funny! I'm looking forward to this, now, too! Though I wonder if the premise would have made a good feature... it seems like something Pixar would do, and certainly it would have been a more intriguing project than "Cars 2."

*scribbles date and time on a scrap of paper and tapes it to TV* There! Can't forget now! Sorry. My memory sucks and I don't trust it to remember something like this weeks from now. I missed the premiere of the Monsters Vs. Aliens Halloween special last month because of using memory alone I forgot it and I was not happy to lose my chance of seeing it this year! I missed another special on TV last weekend I wanted to see because it slipped my mind. My raging forgetfulness isn't helping my self-esteem.

Looks good! Too bad I don't have cable so I won't see it until it hits DVD which will be next November probably.

I didn't think the regular ABC channel was cable....unless it is a premium in Canada...but its not goingto be on ABC Family...just regualar ABC where some Desperate Housewives and Barbara Walters and an occasional movie....oh and Jimmy Kimmel :P

Oh btw I saw a trailer for this IN DIGITIAL 3D it was a preview for it to air on ABC but it was in 3D when I saw Christmas Carol.....did anyone else happen to have that screened at their Christmas Carol 3D

A training video for the elves. I don't think that it's meant to be spoilerish, but if you don't want to know anything about the featurette, then maybe don't watch it.

Important announcement for those who wanted to see this: Because, at the last minute, Obama decided to put his address to the nation on December 1, ABC will be airing Prep and Landing a week later on the 8th.

Wow, I'm extremely miffed, especially since this happened so last minute. Don't the White House people look at the television schedules to see if they're conflicted with any special airings?

Thanks for the heads up, Estefan! I would have tuned in and been all like " :? Obama does not look like a secret agent elf! Is this some kind of sick joke, Disney!?"

Well, with a later air date, people will probably be more in the mood for a christmas special than a week earlier.

As Much as his speech next week is important and could be a big change in our strategy on troops will be answered send more bring back or status quo I think its best we get the info before Prep & Landing....but that's good ABC is airing a week later instead.....although I wonder if The Bigglest Loser on NBC will be pre-empted....(please no wise cracks relating The Biggest Loser to Obama I don't want my comment turning into a political feud..)

Plus besides it'll be closer to Christmas and people will want to watch it more.....so I agree with ajmrowland

Crap, I was just scrolling through the guide and saw that Prep & Landing disappeared off the schedule for this crap. Now that V's gone, I was looking forward to something the next Tuesday, but I guess not. As these Presidential Addresses have proven so far, people have really stressful lives with this crap economy and would like to escape reality during their evenings (not get a heavy dose of it), I expect LOW ratings as usual. I just don't understand why every station feels they need to broadcast it. Why not pick one (and have decent ratings for that station) and put it up on YouTube later for anyone who actually cares?

Guess I have to wait another week but I'm not sure I can contain myself. If I explode from excitement, we're suing the president

I am sure the white house didn't pin point just to scractch Prep and Landing to show a week later.....even though some of us don't want to hear about updates or how many troops are going or not going or are coming home or politics in general etc....there are just as many people who want an answer and deserve to hear if they want....and its not just a typical thing they could announce on CNN or the Local News....at 5 o'clock.....and idk why they just don't pick one....I think it's more like the station's wanting to show it....plus it's not an announcement of Lou Dobbs Plans to beat Obama in 2012....

While we have to wait another week for Prep & Landing, don't forget that we have the ABCFamily Network Presentation of all of the Pixar shorts on Wednesday night at 7 and 9 pm, Eastern time. They will then be repeated in a couple of weeks on separate night, I believe it is December 18th and 19th. But make sure you record this show because they will be showing the "Mater" shorts that some of us have missed because Disney doesn't put them on their schedule. Missed another new one Friday night (why does Disney do this?)

:D

By the way, for those living in Canada, CTV will be airing Prep and Landing two days earlier than ABC on December 6 at 7:00 pm.

I wonder why the count-down clock on the official website hasn't been changed. I understand why Disney hasn't yet changed the promos, but you would think it would be easier to update the count-down clock.

it stinks that this got delayed til the 8th! All the television ads were for December 1st. In fact, DISNEY CHANNEL could air this and delay the billionth airing of non disney studio Happy Feet by half an hour.

Why do they keep showing "Happy Feet," anyway? How are they allowed to, first of all, but also why?

probably because they don't want to open the Disney Vault and air a REAL disney film....and "billionth" was exaggerating. They air the Beethoven movies MORE than they air anything Disneyish.

Anyway, I am pumped for "Prep and Landing". I have a DVDRecorder with a HDD that I will be recording the special to, since Disney doesn't want to release a DVD until Christmas time NEXT year (they could release it in July and make it a Christmas in July release, but I know they won't).
