I thought there were disc stubs just very flat ones. I must have over looked the fact that the discs only slip into sleeves because I didn't notice till I read someone's reply and went back to study the pics more closely. Boo! for impractical packaging (even with it looking neat sliding and folding open like that)!
Does Disney expect people to wrap the discs in toilet paper for protection before sliding them back in the sleeves?

Has anyone heard if the 1 disc will be in a similar package, or will it be in a normal case?

The WALL-E soundtrack has the same problem. The CD is just in a recycled paper folder. I bought the disc brand new and sure enough, upon opening it, it already had microscratches in it. C'mon Disney, you can do better. When I buy a product I don't expect it to be wrecked right away.

lighthousemike, could you please tell us (me

) if the
Up trailer on the DVD is the same one that we can see on the official site (or
on YouTube)?
Please, it's important... Thank you!

I am shocked at the packaging for the 3 disc special edition of WALL-E. it's HORRIBLE! First, the Futurama DVDs, then The Simpsons, now this. I might still buy it though because I like my DVDs to have features.

So what's everyone, who plans to buy this 3-disc set, going to do to protect the discs? I want to keep the discs in the packaging so I'm going to try wrapping them in Kleenex tissues. They'll look like they're clad in diapers before I tuck them back in their orange crib. *facepalm* Disney, you're making me have to resort to treating these discs like babies, shame on you!

Put them in a DVD binder like I do for all my DVDs.

Alternatively, buy the 2-disc Blu-Ray, get all the bonus features and avoid the crappy packaging altogether. A computer BD-ROM drive can be had for barely more than $100, it's easy to hook a computer up to our TV, and computer drives aren't limited to Profile 1.0 or 1.1, as that depends entirely on the software player. For $125 CDN, I have a fully-functional BD-Live (Profile 2.0) player.

I'm still undecided on getting the 1 disc or the 3 disc. If I get the 3 disc I'll put the DVDs in a extra case, and print out some artwork for it. Just hope they are not scratched up already if I get the 3 disc.

I wish they lumped the Burn-E short in with the deleted scenes instead of seperating it from them because it pretty much sounds like a deleted scene. Even if it isn't on par with the Presto short, I want to see the Burn-E short to see what the poor robot went through after he got locked out.
Having actually seen BURN-E, that idea is ludicrous. This is nothing of "deleted scene" quality, it takes place over the course of the entire movie, and it's outstanding. What went into making a simple idea of a quick cut to a full short took months, if not years of planning and pestering Andrew Stanton. I don't know why the OP spoke harshly about it, but I think it's my favorite Pixar short... I'm pretty sure my dad felt the same way too. Hopefully once you see it you'll understand why it could never be lumped in with the rest of the deleted scenes.
If anyone is interested in hearing the story behind how the BURN-E short came it be, let me know. I heard it straight from the director's mouth right before he showed it off for the first time. It's a pretty funny story actually.

I'm probably only going to be getting the 1-disc, then...I want to get the movie the day it comes out, and I won't have an extra $18 to spend on the 3-disc, with
Bolt coming out and all.
Thanks for letting us know, magicalwands.
It's sad...when Disney is finally releasing a 2-disc DVD of a new movie, I probably won't even get it...I mean, I could wait a few weeks until I save money, but then it'll be even more money, since the first week a movie is out, it's cheaper.

Is Best Buy gonna have a WALL*E Rubik's cube?

Black Friday is the Friday that WALL-E comes out. I'm researching every day online if the ads from any stores are advertising WALL-E with a discount. So far, nothing. But I think we will for sure get the ads by the day before Thanksgiving and make our decision then of whether to wait for Friday or get it Wednesday.
On the other hand, it is 22.99 on Amazon!

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. I'm going to wait to see on Best Buys price/freebie if they have one. Might just get the 1 disc for this release. I'm not a big fan of the packaging they are using for the 3 disc, and the price is to much in my opinion.
