Those would definitely be worth the quadruple-dip!
Kelvin wrote:Why on earth does the cover logo use a 1940s-esque retro font?

Is this supposed to be Meet the Poppins? The Poppinteer?
I love
The Poppinteer. One of the best movies never made.

I'm pissed, you must know why right ?!
I'll just sit here and complain in silent mode for this release.
Hint : Oliver & Company

When a down-on-her-luck nanny discovers a very special umbrella, it's up to her to discover a way to keep it from Nazi spies and find it's rightful owner, Howard Hughes and the US government before the war effort can go terribly wrong! Filled with action, drama and romance involving legendary actresses Julie Andrews and Jennifer Connelly, The Poppinteer is sure to provide non-stop action for the entire family!
Coming to Disney DVD and Blu-ray high-def Never!

Julie Andrews and Jennifer Connelly play lovers in this movie? That'd be interesting. lol.

I won't double dip. Just like I didn't double dip for Sleeping Beauty (have the great 2003 release).
I can think of a few movies that need a new release that Disney needs to release on DVD or maybe Blu Ray. Pete's Dragon is one.

There really is NO point in this release. The 40th Anniversary Edition was fabulous! It had a beautiful cover, lots of bonus features and more. This movie doesn't need to be re-re-released when there was one 5 years ago... still in print today!
Come on Disney! There are SO many more movies that deserve an upgrade. Plus the cover looks like it was photoshopped by an amateur... not impressive.

Everything below Mary's head looks good. I don't like that they chose a picture of Mary smiling awkwardly like she's been caught at an uncomfortable moment by a paparazzo. She's suppose to look confident!

That made me laugh. I figured that I'd let you know.
Oh, and I'm definitely not feeling the cover. I won't be double-dipping on this one. Are they even going to put the 40th Anniversary DVD in the Vault? I mean, surely when this is released, but will it go in the Vault the day this new one comes out?

I never got around to getting the 40th Anniversary edition, so I'll probably pick this one up. Though, I still think it is stupid that Disney is re-releasing it only 5 years later as yet another anniversary edition.

I bet Disney is holding out on Blu-Ray this time because they're gonna re-release it again as a 50th anniversary in 6 years (2014) on Blu-Ray only, and they'll probably keep the 45th anniversary DVD in print for those who don't own HD TVs or Blu-Ray players, though I can't imagine who wouldn't by then...

what the cover succeeded at is making the impression the movie is about all fantasy breaks loose.if i hadnt seen the movie, id think its about a magical mary who casts a spell and children gets to ride on merry go horses and animated penguins doin the step in time routine on english rooftops beneath the aurora borealis. that mightve been a better movie spectacle.
speaking of youtube clips..they really should include the show where julie played herself ,mary poppins and eliza doolitle all at the same time.

I wish they could include that clip. Really fun sketch. It's from the first episode of the Julie Andrews Hour in 1972.

The Julie Andrews Hour deserves to be on DVD.

Actually I think you'll find it's potentially a quadruple dip. Gasp! Reyquila doesn't own one of the editions of Mary Poppins!

Half the time Disney don't even put material they own on their DVDs. I doubt Disney would even go to the lengths of spending money licensing material from other studios just for a bonus feature.

Yes, very true. It's all just wishful thinking and fun talk of what the ultimate fantasy version of Poppins extras would be.
I'd love for Disney to at least release Julie Andrews in "Walt Disney World's Gala Opening" one day. We have so little vintage WDW material released on DVD if any.

I was rewatching the 2003 DVD of SB today and I just kept thinking all the way through: "This looks CRAP!"
You should really think of buying the new PE edition. Even if only for the new restoration. And it's not as if it costs a fortune.

I'm sorry, but I'm putting what you just wrote as my signature. It made me laugh quite a bit...
Speaking of eye-raping cover art...that does look like a bad fan-art thingy...

The cover is ugly, looks like some bad fanart, the old cover is MUCH prettier.

I never actually looked at the whole bottom half of the cover before...
Um, does it bother anyone else that the penguins aren't in the "Step in Time" number, yet the cover makes it seem like they are...?
