Good god! Again? Are you like my stalker? Seriously, you should hear me in real life sometimes. If I said something like that out loud, the gestures and facial expressions only make it even better.

All techno-geeks are the same. Mac lovers go on and on about these amazing features Macs have and I look back and say "Yeah, but can you right-click?" or "That's nice, my PC can do that too and it doesn't just freeze every five minutes when I try to run two things at once".

iPod (and I don't mean to pick on Apple products, but they do seem to have one of the largest fan-bases) users swear that their flashy, more expensive MP3 player is better and once I again I disagree. Yeah it has other features like showing the album cover and games and stuff like that, but whoopdeshit. You also have to install a bunch of programs on your computer and pay three times as much for the hardware to accomplish the same thing my 35 dollar MP3 player from Wal-Mart does.

New, and flashy with better though unnecessary features will always have their mindless followers, and I'll always have my right click.

Like I said, BR players are very nice. But they are worth NO MORE than $200. If the discs run $10 over the normal DVD, then the player shouldn't be more than a $100 over a normal DVD player. They probably cost like $10 to make in China, so all these people who pay all that money for a BR player are getting scammed. In a few years when its at the price it should be, least I know, I got what I paid for.

Now mind you, the PS3 is worth the price. DVD player, BD player, Playstation 1-3 game compatible, CD player.

But a stand alone player for the same amount or more, you got to be crazy.

We have that too, it's called "control+click".

I don't like Macs. I had to use them for 4 years during high school and I went nuts. Perhaps I'm just too well trained on PC to use Macs effectively; I dunno. All I know is after 4 years of using both Mac and PC on a regular basis I like PC more; a fact that pissed my Media Arts teacher off to no end.

I hate to turn the thread into a "Apple rules PC sucks!" war, but having been both a PC and Mac user I think there's no real difference between the two, other than features, security and software.

It all depends on the people that use them and what they use them for. My friends are all Mac fanatics and have developed a great deal of their first Wii game using Mac software and hardware. So Macs have worked great for them. Meanwhile people have done very well with their PCs.

Again, it all depends on the user and their experiences. I've seen people DAMN PCs to Hell and back simply because of a bad experience while others condemn Macs for something they didn't understand.

As for iPod, I have an iPod Nano and I love both it and iTunes. Yes, I could've gone for a cheaper player (believe me, I did a lot of research) but in the end, I chose the Nano for its software, brand name and sleek presentation.

What I am stating here is that while there are raving fanatics in ANY community you have to remember that there are many of us who genuinely enjoy the product, the brand and the company but our feet are firmly planted on Earth and realize that there are other users who think differently.

But you know the community that REALLY gets on my nerves? VIDEOGAME COMMUNITIES.

Jesus Christ, if you guys think that Blu-Ray fans are stupid wait till you get a load of post Nintendo DS and Wii fanatics, Halo fanboys and PS3 cult followers...*Shudder

I don't know anything about video games. I haven't played a game (outside the Pokemon franchise which I play via emulator) that was released after 1996 since well... 1997.

I'm an old school gamer. You guys can keep Halo. I'll play Sonic 2 and Super Mario Bros thank you very much.

We're all sorry that you're so simple Widdi, but some of us do like to stay on the front of technology and the advances.

You know, you can buy a BD (not BR) player for less than $250 right now. And Christmas promises even better deals on BD hardware.

But no. By your own admission, you would rather spend $350 on another robotic toy dinosaur, when you have two of the same already - in addition to the many dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, etc. you have.

And you wonder why you're being called ignorant children.

All of the BD/BR players I have seen locally are $400-$1000. Granted I am not always looking, but a couple of months ago, that was the prices I see. I don't buy something like that sight unseen online.

And yes, I rather buy another Pleo then spend that sort of money on a fancy DVD player. I have more fun with Pleos than I do with DVDs. My Pleos interact together and with other people and animals. My DVD player and a BD player won't interact at all. No fun pictures, can't take them with me anywheres and it still doesn't make me coffee. Neither does Pleo, but Pleo can play dead and tug of war.

I know many other people wouldn't agree over spending $350 for another robot vs a BD player...but I won't call those people "ignorant children" either. I wouldn't insult them at all, because well, there is no insult necessary. Its a matter of preference and how people wish to spend their money. Now I would certainly accept a cash gift from all those people to buy me a BD player if they so wish. Since they seem hell bent on convincing the world that if you don't like BD you must be an ignorant child.

I also think calling Widdi simple is insulting too. And I prefer PC over Mac. Vista has yet to crash on me once in the 2 years I've had it. I prefer Windows 98 and XP over Vista, but its not as bad as people made it off. Mac on the other hand...I think postal workers all own Macs and that is why they go crazy.

Ahem ... Widdi isn't "simple". If you really do believe that people are entitled to their opinion then you can discuss intelligently and not outwardly insult them. And for your information, your comment really pisses me off, because Widdi is anything but simple.

Siren, the new PS3s don't do PS2 games. Only 1 and 3.

But otherwise, yeah... buying an actual Blu-Ray player is stupid if you can get a PS3 for the same price.

I got a PC for compatability with most of the world, in case I need to do something on it for school I can't do with a Mac, and to play my PC-only games!

BUT I heard Macs are better for graphics. And I'm a visual person so, I'm all for that. I would think a lot of people here, too, would care about that. I mean...animation's a visual medium, and movies are, too, you can have a silent film but if you want just a soundtrack buy a CD or listen to the radio. I hate how everyone came here to talk about DVD's which had better quality and interactivity than VHS and now Blu-ray has better quality and interactivity, and people came here to talk about video quality in general and then they go on about not needing the best visual quality. I'm not saying for people who can't afford it, I'm talking about people who don't care about the quality, and are kind of poopooing it. Yes, I said that.

Oh yeah. You telling me. The console wars NEVER ends. But it's still hilarious and fun to see them fighting.

Yeah, true. Only like 2 games I wanted to play on PS3.

And yes, the video game wars are almost as bad as the Star Wars vs. Star Trek.
