I think Demi is a better singer and actress than Hilary Duff. I find Miley to be a waaaay better singer than Hilary. I was never fond of Hilary Duff or the show Lizzie McGuire. I like Sonny with a Chance and Hannah Montana much much more.
I also found out that thanks to the popularity of Lizzie McGuire, Vault Disney was taken off so they can add repeats during that time block...

I think both ladies are talented in their own way. Demi Lovato is a bit more punk rock and edgy, but I am curious to see how she evolves as she becomes older and matures more.

If by the words "the next Hillary Duff" you mean "the next flash in the pan, career already dead, corporate tweener creation", then sure, she's the next in line. As the Jonas Bros and McGuire follow Duff into oblivion, never fear that there's an unending stream of new youth all too willing to jump onto the conveyor belt, waiting to be plied with wigs and makeup and trotted out into the limelight to sell garbage music and garbage fashion and garbage narrative television to a new generation, before sliding into the meat grinder known as "What Ever Happened To...?".

hilary was sweet, instantly likeable, and completely relatable to. she was your average american teenager. she didn't sing on her show, or have anything extraordinary happened to her (until the movie). She was everyones best friend and I happen to think she was very talented (and still is see War Inc.) Once Lizzie ended disney went slapstick comedy about these big crazy ideas, a psychic, a secret popstar, kids living in a hotel, a kid on a sketch show.. etc. no one will ever be as relatable as lizzie (other than shia labouf and christy carlson romano). i really like demi though. selena i like a lot too (just not her show). miley is annoying however. sure hilary wasn't a singer but no one will ever top her likeability factor. she is the one who started all this on disney and was the end to the once down to earth more mature disney we once had, including so weird, even stevens, in a heartbeat, the jersey, the famous jett jackson...etc. where has disney gone?

Boy, someone's touchy about that.

Demi Lovato's Rise to the Top- Call Her Alt-Disney
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/19/arts/ ... ss&emc=rss
(via thedisneyblog.com)
the article wrote:At a subsequent audition for a role on “Jonas,” the Jonas Brothers’ Disney Channel sitcom (which she didn’t get), she sang for the executives and was soon cast in “Camp Rock”
I had no clue that a) "JONAS" was casting before
Camp Rock, and that Demi auditioned for "JONAS"!!!
the article wrote:And for all the ways she might be pushing the Disney envelope artistically, Ms. Lovato understands the burden of fame well. She agreed to drop from the new album a song she wrote (with William Beckett of the emo band the Academy Is ...) about her estranged father, as it might have been too intense for her young audience. In conversation she appears aware that she is a brand advocate in addition to a teenage girl, sometimes stopping herself and choosing new words when she feels those interests may be in competition.
That kind of sucks. Hilary Duff was allowed to put "Stranger" on her
Dignity album, and that's allegedly about her father's cheating...I have a love-dislike relationship with Hollywood Records. On the one hand, I'm a huge fan of a bunch of their artists, but on the other hand, they pull things like this, and they don't do as much promotion for certain artists (Corbin Bleu, definitely, and Vanessa Hudgens, too...).
And, I was going through the Sunday paper today, and there is an ad: Demi will be at a local mall on Aug. 2 (she has a concert that night, which I didn't have money to get a ticket for) at the grand opening of an AT&T Store! I'm so excited! Radio Disney will be having contests to win tickets, and I'm too old to win Radio Disney contests, but hopefully I can bring some girls that I know (they already have concert tickets, but a) I'm sure they'd like to see Demi, and b) maybe the could win me tickets!

I LOVED Lizzy McGuire! I remember watching it every friday. I always wanted her and Ethan Craft to get together, at least for one night. Oh well.
As for Demi, I don't know why but I don't like her. I only watched the first ten minutes of Camp Rock and I've never really seen Sonny With a Chance.
With Miley Cyrus, I'm indifferent towards her. I don't like her, I don't hate her. Hannah Montana is not really a bad show. It's watchable at least.
I'm also indifferent towards Selena Gomez.
Really, the only Disney Channel shows I watched religiously were Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, That's So Raven, The Famous Jett Jackson, The Proud Family, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

I've never seen it. I guess I never saw a point to watching it. Isn't it the same as Suite Life except they are now on a ship?
I do catch Hannah Montana once in a while. I've also seen a couple of episodes of The Wizards of Waverly Place. Oh, and one episode of Jonas. I didn't know they even had a show.

Cody's got a new love interest. It's a nice, sunny setting. And a few episodes have them visiting different places. Also, Zack and Cody aren't living with Carey anymore. She remains in Boston.

I guess I'll check it out next time it's on. My ten year old cousin said she doesn't watch it because Maddie isn't on it. I didn't know Ashley Tisdale had such a big impact on the lives of little children.

I haven't watched much of On Deck myself, but it actually does feel like something's missing without Maddie. Mainly because London needs a more sympathetic character to balance out her snobbery and self-centered-ness, and Maddie was perfect for that.
Unless there's another character doing this now and I just haven't caught enough of the show?

^^Bailey fills that role, now.
