Are you wondering about the accuracy of the list?
I often wonder about top "number" lists... surely there can't be that many people buying a Britney record. Surely people have more taste than that...
...but these DVD sales seem to accurately reflect the top theatrical movies of 2003. Unless THEY were fiddled with as well...

I heard that there was ALOT of hype for the DVD/VHS release of Stitch! The Movie and almost no hype for Treasure Planet because it BOMBED at the box office. But I also heard that although Treasure Planet didn't do that well in the box office (it was considered Disney's BIGGEST financial loss) it did very well sales-wise (myself included since I bought a copy the day it came out on DVD).

I know you wrote that just to tease me Loomis, so here you go:
LEAVE BRITNEY OUT OF THIS!

I suppose I should be more careful. She is, after all, a recent divorcee and may be suffering some emotional scarring over the break-up.

Question? Question?
If you include inflation wouldn't Treasure Planet be the worse in the box office?(excluding package era films) It would be worse than The Black cauldron

I'm not sure about that, but Treasure Planet (according to
Box Office Mojo) grossed $38,176,783. Its production cost $140 million, and estimated marketing costs of $40 million. So it lost, just on box office, about $140 million

Of course, that doesn't include DVD sales (35.5 million). Still, I'm not sure how to read it all, but it sounds like a really big loss.
According to this
site, Black Cauldron cost $ 25,000,000 , and it and Box Office Mojo reports that it made around $21,288,692. So not THAT much of a loss, it would seem (the gap is much wider with TP, even with inflation).
Hope that helps some...

"Well, Stitch certainly shows how popular the DTV sequels are."
(rolls eyes)
And I guess the flop release, "Atlantis: Milo's Return", shows how unpopular the DTV sequels are.
