I third (or is it fourth?) the scan.

Still, one wonders what the new cover art will be . . . *crossing fingers that Melody will look decent and Ariel actually looks like Ariel for once*

WOW I another pointless re-release! Let's all go crazy for a new virtual game to find Melody lol.

I wouldn't say it's too pointless. The DVD is almost impossible for me to find....

then just re-issue the 2000 version and throw a slip cover on it lol. I guess that is what they are doing and we get a game, yay lol.

That is a good thing. You wouldn't want the original letterboxed version. Hopefully this release will be anamorphic as Disney didn't see fit to enhance the last release for ws televisions. This had better come remastered & anamorphic.

Was the new cover shown at all ? Or was it just simply a statement that said Return To The Sea is being released in December ?

Any other new releases announced?

I hope Ariel features more on the new cover than the old; I know the story is not centered on her, but neither was Cinderella the main character in Cindy II, and in the Special Edition of the DVD it featured Cinderella's huge head above the title.

That's because Cinderella is the most recognizable. Had they put Anastasia and Jaq on the cover, normal shoppers might have passed it off as a Disney ripoff, with a redhead Cinderella and a mouse.

But I thought the last line was so funny, "Cinderella's huge head",

I suppose there's a different term you'd want me to use? I am more accustomed to discussing album sales and releases, and when an album is re-packaged we refer to it as a "re-release."

I am very sorry for any minor inconvenience this topic's title alliteration may have caused you.

I do not have a scanner, sorry. The other DVD advertisements were for Sleeping Beauty and two Winnie-the-Pooh releases.

Sure. It's just a plain beach background with "The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea Special Edition" printed in the center. It's a new logo, printed in a different font and in yellow and bronze lettering. Ariel and Melody appear on both sides of the logo. "Coming December 9, 2008" is printed on the top of the page.

I"m pretty sure she will be featured on the cover a lot,Maybe even more then Melody (Well,Ariel IS the reason why many people will buy it ) but I think she and Melody should be on the cover like Aurora and Jasmine in the Enchanted Tales cover.
I whould like to see Eric on the cover (It's kinda silly not having him on the PE cover because if Ariel never met him and rescued him nothing in The Little Mermaid whould have happened but it's okay).
I hope that the background will be orange/red/peach.
