I'd think the feature of an Annette Funicello WDT volume would be her MMC 'Annette' serial. I don't know how many episodes made up this series -- for some reason, my impression is that there weren't many. Can anyone shed light on this?
THANKS, Disney and Leonard Maltin!!

Actually, I believe there were 20 episodes of the Annette Serial. It was aired during the 1957-58 season of the MMC.
For those who dont know, its about Annette, a country girl who is sent to the city to spend time with relatives. For her, the adjustment isnt exactly easy and she gets 'accused' of stealing "popular girl,Lauras (Roberta Shore) necklace. The Annette Show is pure 1950s TV; innocent, wholesome and fun. The feel of the show reminds me alot of the old Lasse or Dennis the Menace tv shows. lol It actually has a really strong cast including; David Stollery, Tim Considine, Doreen Tracey, Shelley Fabares, Sharon Baird, Mary Wicks, and Roberta Shore.
Wonder when we will know for sure if this is what will be included in the Annette volume???

Annette was my fave MMC serial. Laura (Roberta Shore) was such a great bitch and there was even a Dynasty-like catfight between her & Jet! And I love the song Don't Jump to Conclusions! Can't wait to know if it's gonna be part of the set!

I've seen a few episodes on YouTube (last year?), and I think Richard Deacon (Lumpy's dad on 'Leave It to Beaver' and Mel Cooley on 'The Dick Van Dyke Show') was in it, too -- though this isn't noted on IMDB.com.

YEA...."Mel Cooley" from the Dick Van Dyke show plays the Uncle and Im pretty sure the lady who plays the Aunt played Mrs Wilson on the Dennis the Menace tv show. Not sure about Richard Deacon tho.....
YES Dont Jump to Conclusions is great. Meetin' at the Malt Shop that Annette sings with David Stollery is a good one too!

Wow I'm really surprised by this new replacement. Orignaly I was gon'na buy Donald Duck Vol. 4 and The Syn. Scarecrow but now I'll buy all 3 dvds *Smiles* I somewhat remember watchin an episode of the Annette Funicello series on Vault Disney. Can't remember much bout it, I deffintly remember Annette from Mickey Mouse Club, Babes in Toyland and Monkey's Uncle. Isn't there a biography film on her, I read it somewhere, called: A Dream Is A Wish: The Annette Funicello Story"

Thanks for the help Jon, much appericated. I did a youtube search on it and it's there *chuckles* They "might" include this film on Disc 2 as a bonus like they did with Hand Behind the Mouse:The Ub Iwerks story
"A Dream Is A Wish: The Annette Funicello Story"

Wouldn't that be something if "A Dream Is A Wish: The Annette Funicello Story" were included!
I watched it on YouTube, and her live appearance choked me up....

Yep shes a true inspiration and a strong amazing woman. She just shines and touches your heart in the few segments shes in in the movie,
If you havent read her autobiography, pick it up on Ebay! You will grow to have a entirely new appreciation for this lady after reading it.

Richard Deacon IS the actor who portrayed "Mel Cooley" on "The Dick Van Dyke Show."
Great character actor!

Thanks Luke, for sending a HEADS UP e-mail on the Treasures now being available on Amazon for pre-order. I had been checking the last few days and not finding them, even when checking under the individual titles (as Amazon has them listed right now) instead of the general overall Treasures series. I just used your e-mail link to order the titles - much easier that way.
I think Annette being released as the thrid set is GREAT!! However, I don't think there will be much room on the set for any full length extras. I have a total run time of 3 hours 13 minutes when I taped it off the Disney Channel back in the 1980s.
Now, at least, the Treasures feel like a more "normal" release - having only two sets didn't feel RIGHT.
I never cared for the Dr. Syn, Scarecrow series or movie - but that was decades ago and maybe I'll enjoy it more now or at least whatever extras are included.
I own all the other Treasures, so I'll buy all three. I'm most looking forward to Donald Vol. 4, then Annette next.

3 hours 13 minutes spread across 2 discs would be about 96.5 minutes per disc. That leaves plenty of space for bonus features. I'd like to see some trailers and Escape in Florence and The Horsemasters included as well (what are their running times again?) and of course some featurettes.
More importantly (for me at least) only 3 month's till Dr. Syn!!!!

Unfortunately it is not owned by Disney (CBS distributes it) and as much as it would make sense to release it with this set I don't see that happening unfortunately.
I still think it's occasionally shown on TV (say some clips of it earlier this year i think) though.

Escapade in Florence and Horsemasters each run about 90 minutes in their theatrical cuts (I'll have to get the VHS out to check the exact run times).
I don't think both films would fit with the serial. However, maybe the serial and
one of the films (my guess would be Horsemasters as it had the first Sherman Brothers' filmed song in it.....though I prefer Escapade myself).
Aside from the serial, the set might contain:
new interviews
trailers/tv spots
biography
various mickey mouse club episodes featuring Annette
footage from later Disney appearances (i.e. Disnyland's 30th Anniversary Celebration, etc.)
audio selections
I'm wondering if the DMC might release "Lots of Luck" and/or "Escapade in Florence" to DVD to coincide with the Annette tin release. No, that would be cross promotion.....which sadly Disney has failed at for over a decade now.........

It's like the left arm doesn't know what the right hand is doing sometimes........

Since the cover art for the set says Mickey Mouse Club Presents: Annette I would assume all the material on the discs will be from Annette's years on the MMC with maybe some kind of appreciation intervews. Her '60s Disney output would make a terrific 2nd Treasures set, though. Hint, hint Disney!

Dr. Syn is the one I'm most anticipating, followed by Donald & then Annettte (Hayley was always my favorite Disney girl not that I didn't love Annette too).

I'm kinda glad about this. I didn't feel that Destino on its own was enough to be a Treasures set, though I do want it to get released.
I like to hope myself and the other folks at the Disney Home Entertainment Forum managed to convince Disney to keep the Treasures line going. Who knows, of course. Unfortunately, the forum was only around for such a short time (only a few months, I believe, by private invitation; we who were invited never really knew how we got selected). It seems they collected all the info they were looking for and then decided to close up. Disney seemed most interested in finding out how to get people more interested in Blu-Ray. We just kept saying, "Lower the price."
