granted madison is a fairly new name made popular by the film splash!
so it would not be relevant for a story set in the 1900s...

Skyler, your media teacher is a hack. Complain to the school board and get him fired. How the hell would someone who is SUPPOSED to know about media think that 2001: A Space Odyssey was made in 1938? Please!JiminyCrick91 wrote:My imbecile media teacher (I disliked him prior to this too) was making us do movie reviews on a list on a DVD he found of 'Reviewers top 100'. Now this DVD was an awful mess and was filled with inaccuracies (much like my teacher) just one example is creating the film 2001: A space Odyssey as a product of 1938! So I showed him the AFI list (both before and after) and he began to rant about how awful it was that Snow White and Toy Story were on the list. Baffled I pried to get more info from him. He told me that aside from Fantasia and Pooh (which Disney stole) nearly everything they have done is crap. He did mention wonderful theme parks though. After telling him I'm a shareholder, I brought up UD, to which he said his respect for me had decreased astoundingly (I was so tempted to say' that’s ok I never had ANY respect for you'), and showed him the animated classics list. I asked him to give me his thoughts on all of them and this (if I can recall is what he said).
That is probably the best explanation. He is still a crying little boy with no signature in his book.Escapay wrote: Regarding the Disney stuff, he's probably just angry at them because a Mickey Mouse didn't stop and sign his autograph book when he went to Disneyland in 1959.
I wonder if the guy still has the autograph book in his desk, and he carries it around with him, with that lingering hope that one day he'll return to Disneyland and get that autograph. Then he'll be on Disney's good side again!Simba3 wrote:That is probably the best explanation. Sorry Albert, the DVD he got said that. He is the type that says 'You know that Animal House was one of the highest grossing Canadian films in history?' Even though it was shot in Oregon and funded with Californian money. I told him that I thought he ment 'Porky's' and he said ‘No you must be mistaken’, saying how great full screen is in ALL circumstances and other dumb, silly things. So he's dumb but not dumb enough to think 2001 was not a 1938 film.Escapay wrote: How the hell would someone who is SUPPOSED to know about media think that 2001: A Space Odyssey was made in 1938? By God, I'll try it!Hmm...maybe that's all you need to do, Skyler! Get him an autograph by Mickey Mouse that says something like "Hiya Pal! Stop badmouthing my company and I'll let you into Disneyland for free without waiting in any lines!"
Geez, this guy can't get anything right, can he? No wonder nobody likes him. How the hell did he get the job as media teacher? Did he sleep with the school board or something?JiminyCrick91 wrote:Sorry Albert, the DVD he got said that. Until then, the pages saturated only by his own tears, and to his devastation, not with ink.Escapay wrote: I wonder if the guy still has the autograph book in his desk, and he carries it around with him, with that lingering hope that one day he'll return to Disneyland and get that autograph. I think they are referring to Sebastian the crab, because he is a carribian-type. He is one of the funniest characters in the movie, but some people are offended by the inclusion of such an 'etnic' character and call it racist.amazon980 wrote:How is the little mermaid racist?
I don't think that's an infallable measurement though Siren. Different people have different tolerance levels after all. A comedian can tell a joke about 9/11 and claim it's not in bad taste. Does that mean its not?Siren wrote:Yeah, lest we forget a black man voiced Sebastian, so he didn't see anything wrong with it.
Usually the only ones who are racist in things like this are the ones who are making these unjustifiable claims.

Well, the way he treats his pupils: " My respect for you has decreases astoundingly" puts him down as an arrogant prig. No teacher should behave that way indeed!Ariel'sprince wrote:JiminyCrick91 wrote: Cinderella- Come On!
