Also, based on Fox's release schedule for this show, I don't think anyone will be mad at who is put on the box as long as they are released. I wonder how much faster these would get put out if there wasn't a commentary for each episode. Those are something I would gladly give up if it meant they would come out faster.

South Park started out releasing the seasons about every 6 months, although there was a year between 10 and 11 because they just finished airing season 11.
The Simpsons seasons were almost a year apart at the beginning, then they pumped season 5 out within 6 months of season 4. There was a slightly longer wait of 8 months for season 6, but season 7 was much quicker, only 4 months later. They repeated that pattern with season 8 taking 8 months, and season 9 coming 4 months afterwards again. I guess the movie took the place of Season 11's release.
If they don't hurry up, all the Simpsons seasons will be released on DVD just about the time that Blu-Ray is obsolete, and Maggie will be old enough to drive a car!!

Source?
I ask only because in Matt Groening's intro in season 10 he says it's the last set to come packaged as a head box.

I think I'll skip the head box set this time.

I like how Sideshow Bob (my favorite character!) and Sideshow Mel are on the spine, that's awesome (personally I was a little disappointed with Season 10's spine characters.... as lame as that may sound xD)

Ironically, Sideshow Bob wasn't in the 11th season.
