Who wants to bet this is in large part thanks to that new guy who replaced Dick Cook? He's all about using social network sites as a promotional toold for Disney products.
Eventhough that Youtube Muppet Channel skyrocketed last week, without much fanfare Disney animation studios also launched a channel recently. They have some great clips of animators drawing TPATF character at what looked like the D23 convention.
Disney is clearly going viral.

Interesting. The only problem with that storyline though is that it's the exact same plot as "It's Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie". Minus the Christmas aspects, I dunno how theyre gonna make this film stand out.
Plus the title of the film doesnt sound like a good title for attracting theater goers. Might be good for TV though...

Do you happen to have the link to the Disney Animation Studios YouTube channel, Patrick?
I'd like to get over there and take a look at it.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago when the Muppets performed at "Christmas at Rockefeller Center" singing Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". I found this clip here.

I wanted to watch the video you posted, musicradio77, but it is always just a white square on my computer for some reason (YouTube just hasn't been working well lately on my computer- the 2nd video I'm posting currently is just a white square on my computer, but it worked a little bit ago).
Muppets on Jimmy Fallon:

And, while not Disney's Muppets, still a cute video with some Muppets:
Jason Mraz on Sesame Street:

Another Muppet appearance is coming. They are doing Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on January 2nd. From what the commercial had on it, they help tear down the house.

So – given that the Muppets are in the middle of this rather large resurgence – is it any wonder that, a week ago today, Walt Disney Studios revealed that it was developing a brand-new Muppets feature film which it hopes to put into production this fall and then release sometime in 2011
FYI: This is a completely different project than the one that was announced back at September of 2009 at the D23 EXPO. The Mouse House no longer plans on making “The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made.” Mind you, the film that Mickey is thinking of producing is currently untitled. But the word on the Web that this project is reportedly called “The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made.” More importantly, that this production will be directed by “Flight of the Conchords” creator James Bobin and feature a screenplay that's written by Jason Segel & Nicholas Stoller.
And speaking of things that got announced at the D23 EXPO … You remember that Muppets Halloween special? The one that was supposed to air on ABC this October? Well, the folks at Disney have decided to postpone production of that particular TV show.
Now please note that I used the word “postpone,” rather than “cancelled.” The feeling in-house at the Mouse House is that – in the long run – it makes more sense for the Company to put all of its creative power (more importantly, its marketing might) behind the launch of a new Muppet feature film. That a project of that size would then have a far more lasting impact on the overall health of the Muppet brand than a single seasonal TV special would.
More to the point, once this new Muppet movie is successfully launched sometime in 2011, the Company would then be free to circle back on the idea of producing a Muppet Halloween special for ABC. Which is now tentatively slated to air in 2012.
There's a lot more info in the article, so I'd suggest reading it!

I've heard of that before, and honestly, I'm glad it wasn't made. Although, it would have made for an interesting piece had Jodi returned as Ariel...
