I think it's too early to prejudge it, purely because of the filmmaking technique. Also, considering how much care David Heyman took to have Harry Potter respect JK Rowling's vision, I imagine he will do the same with Paddington. This is a British icon and the public will have his (and the director's) head, if they screw it up.

I was surprised at how well-received this movie was back when it came out. Haven't seen it yet, but I should try renting it one of these days.

Oh, that's great news! At least this will round out as a trilogy (although I wouldn't mind these films going on forever like the Toy Story series). I wonder who might be the antagonist for the new film? I didn't expect to like Hugh Grant as much as Nicole Kidman in the first film, but he was actually really good.

 I watched a lot of Citizen Kane as a film student, and while it's not a bad film, I will take Paddington 2 any day!

The third film will be called Paddington in Peru. I'd prefer it had been Paddington 3 similar to Paddington 2, and maybe saved the change in the form of the title for whenever they made a fourth film. Either way, the first two films were marvelous. I'm glad a third film is happening (wish the same could've been true for the Nanny McPhee franchise back when)

Apparently Olivia Colman will be in the third film. I think she'll be the person running the retirement home where Paddington's aunt lives (or perhaps a nurse?). Either way, a strong addition! On level with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant--perhaps Colman is the villain here?

I had to think about it, but Paddington's mom is a different actress!

And:
Paddington in Peru releases Nov. 8 in theaters across the U.K. and Ireland; it opens in the U.S. on Jan. 17, 2025

Yay! Between this and the new Wallace and Gromit short coming, I'm pretty happy about what there is to look forward to.
