Escapay is right, she is a Hollywood idiot. Disney turned these kids into stars and they're not one bit grateful. The only big cast members of HSM that seem glad and grateful to be at Disney are Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu. Zac Efron needs to get off his high horse! Even when they show the HSM 2 premiere spots on Disney 365 on Disney Channel, Zac seems to act as if he is king of everything, and could be doing something better with his time. He gets me aggravated

There are many who might argue Disney was doing them a disservice by "making them stars" to begin with. I dont' know about you, but I've noticed that many Disney-made "celebrities" (though I hesitate to use that word to describe them) who began at a younger age have turned out to be terrible adults. Look at Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears... both are complete messes.
Very few children/young adults really have the ability to deal with stardom and all that it entails... for that matter, few adults have that ability either. Fortunately for people who enter the industry
as adults, these skills can be learned. However for those who begin as children, they're easily (and quickly) overwhelmed by the attention, money, obsessed fans, etc. Children/teenagers already have much more of a tendancy than adults to think they can do absolutely anything and never get hurt or face consequences. What really does the damage is when stardom actually
does give them the ability to do almost anything they want... unfortunately, no amount of money or fame can protect you from the consequences and damge of an excessive lifestyle.
As far as this case is concerned, it doesn't seem
that terrible to me. Sure, you could argue she could've been more discrete about her private deallings (which, of course, wouldn't been a good idea)... but this is hardly the worst thing a teenager (she is 18, after all) can do. Just because she posed for a few racy pictures (and not particularly offensive ones, as far as such things can go) certainly doesn't put her anywhere near the levels that Lohan and Spears have sunk to.

Oh please people talk about how this girl is suppost to be a role model. BULL****!
This girl is an actress. She has a job and she does her job.
REAL role models are police officers, firemen, doctors....dare I say....PARENTS?
Celebrities shouldn't be exalted to god like status and then when they actually act human, be chastised, hated, shamed, etc. So little girls who do find out about this and are crushed, they are living in a fantasy world where the actress is the real character.
I have an eight year old daughter. If she finds out about this, I really don't care. She was raised not to hold actors in high esteem. She would be far more disappointed and embarrassed by ME if I did such a thing. And that is how it SHOULD be.
So please can this stuff about how she is a role model and how you don't want your kids to like/watch/know about her and all this. BE the role model. Don't let someone else on a tv screen raise your kid.

Saw the picture... not a very big deal in my opinion. Seems like everyday a new nude celebrity picture or something is "leaked" out on the internet.
Anyway I've heard more about High School Musical on the radio today than I heard actual news. 99% of it was basically making fun of it, and the nude picture.

I did find the pic as well and I wouldn't call it X-rated. X-rated to me is actually preforming an act. She is standing there, that's it. Its not all that provocative, you think no one every saw a naked girl before.

Oh man, I feel really bad for her, something like that could definitely damage her career. I don't really think its her fault, but she should have been a tad more careful when it comes to her privacy. How the heck did the picture surface anyways?
Even though I find Vanessa a major hottie, thats not really the kind of light I'd like to see her in. Mostley because shes related to Disney, and when it comes to Disney I kind of expect a more pure and innocent approach, because theres not a lot of that left in the world. Same go's for my other Disney Channel crushes with Hilary Duff and Brenda Song, I think they're pretty but I don't wanna see them nude lol, had they not been related to Disney and a little older it might have been a different story lol. And I think the reason for that is because the characters they portray are sort of like innocent goody2shoe(is that how you spell that term?) characters, unlike the girls I knew in High School. So though they may not be like their on screen characters in reality, I think the parts they play make them more appealing to me because I'd like to meet a girl like that one day.
Oh yes, and though she does play the part of the good girl, no one should really look up to her as a role model anyways, she is an actress and she's only human. Everyone makes mistakes.

In my own opinion, I do think that if there is a HSM3, she should still be casted as Gabriella.
But as for the pic, I found it more than disgusting.
"Oh I'm sorry, I took the pic and it accidentally got leaked on to the internet"
I don't believe that crap!
I mean COME ON!!!
Millions of little kids are eventually going to find out!
Either from some stupid teenagers or the internet. Because these days little 11 year olds HAVE MYSPACES(posing as older)!

I think they are talented, but that's beside the point. They are still "good girls". I am a "good girl", so I respect these girls so much. They are hard working and making a name for themselves in a good light. As the Ashley Tisdale quote that I posted said, you can be sexy and keep your clothes on...these girls (and others) have grown up with good morals, and, if a person is going to look up to a celebrity, there are worse choices than Hilary & Ashley.
And I definitely can see where Siren is coming from, about how parents should be the role models. My parents are good people, but sometimes parents' morals and your own don't mix. I'll use Jessica Simpson as an example. My parents could've cared less if I had premarital sex, as long as I didn't get pregnant. That's shocking, if you knew my parents, but they just didn't seem to care. For a girl who was under pressure to have sex, Jessica Simpson (pre-marriage) could've been a role model for girls, letting them know that it's okay to not have premarital sex. That's just an example.

Hudgens isn't being fired. That was a stupid rumor about the Adrienne Bailon replacing her.
Disney is speaking out on the Vanessa Hudgens nude photo scandal.
“Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment,” said Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague. “We hope she’s learned a valuable lesson.”
Vanessa apologized earlier today for the photos, which show her smiling as she posed naked and in underwear in a bedroom with a red curtain behind her.
Negotiations are ongoing for the High School Musical 3 feature film — including Vanessa and co-star boyfriend Zac Efron.
Disney may offer Miss Hudgens significantly less money because of this unfortunate scandal but my guess is Mister Efron will have none of that. Touche!
At least they're smart enough to stick with her. I personally think that if they made a huge deal about it, replacing and/or publicly damning her, they would lose a
large portion of the HSM audience. Oh and..

It doesn't suprise me one bit that Disney is sticking with her. The third movie would be less successful without her, which means less profits. 100% agree with Escapay.

We'll have to see what the long term ramifications are for Vanessa and the leaked photo. Hopefully Disney will be mature enough to regard it as a mistake and not penalize her too much.
Keep in mind that America is becoming very conservative regarding nudity, to the point that many other western nations are laughing their heads off at our "nude-o-phobia". Then again, many Islamic and Hindu nations are just as or more conservative.
Vanessa's picture appears to be an impromptu, unposed and unprovocative shot intended for her boyfriend. If she shared a computer that image was stored on, it would be simple for someone else to access and post it.

This post from Disney Villain stands out for me:

And why should anyone be grateful? They should want their lives micro-managed all the time? Is being a star really such a "gift" because I can tell you right now, most "stars" end up with pretty crappy personal lives and next to no private lives. It may be what the child has chosen, but more likely I suspect is what the child's parents have chosen for them.
Zac Efron may or may not be on a high horse, but he has every right not to like the script and movies he's been asked to perform in. Perhaps he does think he could be doing something better. Or perhaps he just doesn't like being forced to basically market the Disney brand to children.
Johnny Depp is notoriously anti-mainstream - and even when he is mainstream he's rebelling against it at the same time.
Nobody should have a film or tv star as a role model if all that they have done is be a star. They are nobodies and do nothing important in the scheme of things. They don't even say or sing their own words!
If you hold up Susan Saradon as a role model because of her political campaigns fair enough, same if you do the same for Arnold Schwarzenegger for his. Or if have Leonardo DiCaprio as a role model for his environmental views. At least they are doing something and doing their best to change the world. What has anyone in High School Musical achived - the art of orthodontics?
The only role models children should have are those in the family and those who provide a public service, such as firefighters and nurses.
Over the past 10 years or so, the cult of celebrity has gotten way out of hand... and sadly I don't see it slowing down.

They make people happy. Maybe some wouldn't consider them role models just because of that, but they do make people happy. The HSM fims are happy films, and they can put you in a good mood. I know that Corbin Bleu has said that some fans have told him that the movies have helped them not commit suicide. Some may laugh and wonder how the HSM films could make someone reconsider killing themselves, but, if it worked, then that's awesome.

But what has Corbin Bleu done? Himself? That any other kid-picked-to-be-a-star couldn't have done?
Has he spoken at medical conferences? Lobbied the government about teen suicide? Gone out of his way to visit people in hospital? Anything like that?
Just being in HSM does not make
him a role model. People are confusing the character with the person.

You had asked what they had done. I just said that they made people happy.
And, the HSM cast did hang out with kids from the Make-A-Wish Foundation (as shown on an episode of "The Road to
High School Musical 2" on the Disney Channel) [
http://disney.go.com/dxd/index_cds.html?channel=65451]. It's kind of similar visiting a hospital. I don't know of other charity work that the cast has done, but it's possible that they have done other charity work. Even if they haven't done anything, they make people happy. They don't have to be role models. Ask the kids who look up to them why they look up to them.
I'm a fan...it makes me happy. I'm a simple person. I'm happy with that. I'm also not an impressionable kid, so I don't have much of an argument, I guess...

Vanessa Hudgens issued a statement Friday (September 7) apologizing to fans for the photographs of her that hit the Internet this week. The pictures depict the "High School Musical" star nude and in revealing attire.
"I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me," Hudgens said in a statement, according to Us Weekly. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."
A spokesperson for the Disney Channel, which broadcasts the "HSM" movies, told UsMagazine.com, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."

Damn, I was about to post about Lindsay Lohan, Britney and Christina. I saw the old intro to the 90s MMC on You Tube and remembered how many of today's young celebrities have gone downhill ever since they stopped being Disney kids.
