How long is the $25 gift card offer good for? I might drive out to Toys R Us later this week if the offer is still good. Hopefully they still have some and they were not all preordered. If not I'll just pickup a copy at Circuit City or Best Buy.

I am absolutely in love with this game. I have been playing for about 2 hours, now, and I can't believe how awesome this game is. There is one problem, however. I'm in the Loopdeloop Galaxy, where you have to do that darn Ray Surfing, and I can't do it for the life of me. I started with 15 lives, and got down to 11. I decided to reset the game, and go back, and see if I was any better. Big mistake. Even though I had 11 lives before I reset, when I went back to the Loopdeloop Galaxy, I only had 4 left. So now, not only can I not accomplish the Ray Surfing, but, I have far less lives to use! LOL!
Other than that, I have really been impressed. Awesome graphics, addictive gameplay, and it really feels like the true successor to Super Mario 64, but so much better!

The ad says valid 11/11-11/17, Limited Quantities. I would certainly call the Toyr's R Us that you plan to go to (you can find your local stores online, at
www.toysrus.com), and find out if they have any copies available, and if they are still giving the $25.00 Gift Card. I've read quite a few stores have sold out of their extra copies, and only have copies left for those who placed pre-orders. So, it is a good idea just to check. It's an excellent deal, if you can get in on it.

Thanks I'll give it a shot later.
The more I read about the game the more excited I am for it. Pretty much everyone has said that this is the best Wii game to date. I think my friend is the only person that still prefers Twilight Princess to Galaxy.

Question for either of you, since it seems we are the only three enjoying this thread. How many stars are you collecting per Galaxy? I have only been getting 3 stars per Galaxy (which seems standard). However, I just got an extra star in one Galaxy (the Junk Galaxy) as well as a playing the same level over again in there with a 4:00 minute time limit and earning an extra star, which looks like a shooting star - for a total of 5 stars from that Galaxy. Anyhow, the reason I ask is I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing any stars along the way. As we probably can predict, we will need all the stars we can get towards the end.

Yeah, that part took me a little while too, it's hard to get the hang of it. I recommend going fast through the parts you are confident with and slow down around the the winding curves. I ended up finishing in like 1:10, so it certainly isn't unachievable.

I'm not really that far into the game. I believe I now have 8 stars. So far, it seems the standard is 3 stars per galaxy. I have read that there are additional stars in some galaxies, but, I haven't gotten that far.
I finally got through the Ray Surfing. I did it in 1:32, and got a Gold Star. However, I am only showing one star available for the Loopdeloop Galaxy. Are there more stars available?

No, I only collected one star in that level. That seems strange that you collected the star without getting a time lower than 1:30. Hmmm? Oh, I found a way to know if you are getting all the stars. Check out Page 22 of your booklet and it explains how to see the status of a Galaxy (more specifically - whether or not you have gathered all the stars from a particular galaxy).

I finally got to rent Super Mario Galaxy today. So far its pretty fun and the graphics are still great. Only problem is I got the disc read error about four times before I could actually play it.

I am really enjoying this game. I'm taking my time, and really allowing myself to soak in the awesomeness of this game, rather than rushing through. This is just too great a game to rush through. This type of game doesn't come along very often, and I don't want the experience to end!
That being said, MyCheats.com has a Superguide for Super Mario Galaxy. I've only consulted it during a couple of instances (where I just couldn't figure out the next move). However, there is a section talking about the Quest for 120 Stars, which is an interesting read, and talks about all of the different types of stars and comets. It's certainly handy to have this guide, in the event that you get stuck, or want to learn more about the game.
Here is the link:
http://www.mycheats.com/view/section/64 ... alaxy_/wii
I've actually given the link to the section on the Quest for 120 Stars. However, on the right side of the Superguide, you will find the link to each section, starting from the Introduction through to the end of the game.
Enjoy!

I've been pretty busy and still haven't picked up a copy of Galaxy. I hope to get it before Thanksgiving and give it my full attention during Thanksgiving. I was just wondering how everyone was liking it so far? I've talked to my friend who is the only other person I know with a Wii. He said it was fairly easy, but on par with Mario 64 (on how much fun it was). I asked him if it was the best Wii game, and he said no but it was a close 2nd. He still prefers Twilight Princess over Galaxy.

I absolutely LOVE it. The graphics continue to amaze me and it is still a lot of fun. The game is challenging, but not hard to play. Like I said earlier, if you like Mario games, you'll like this one- it's probably the best one yet. There are supposed to be 120 stars and I already have like 70. I can't stop playing, it is so fun and kind of addiction. Ha ha. Be sure to let us know what you think when you get it, DarthPrime

Picked up Galaxy at Target this afternoon.
Yeah I FINALLY got it, and its everything I hoped for. I'm only 3 stars into the game, and I can already say this is the best Wii game I have played to date. This is the "must have" title for the Wii that I've been waiting for. Zelda, Paper Mario, etc... were great, but theres always something special about a true Mario title.
I'm playing on a SDTV right now and the graphics look really good. The controls were very easy to pickup, and so far everything is going great. Walking on the planets was odd at first. I kept thinking if I go off the edge I'll die.
Anyway I can't wait to really get into the game.

This game is sheer awesomeness. I've got 41 stars right now, and I just unlocked the 5th dome. I love how creative the puzzles and platforming are. They manage to challenge me while still being quite fair and fun.

Yay, I'm glad everyone else is enjoying this game as well. I haven't been able to put it down for very long. I already have 90 stars, so I'm getting pretty close to the end now. So fun!

I am so addicted to this game. It just gets better with each new galaxy! Some of the levels and puzzles are absolutely mind bending, in a good way! One of my most favorite galaxies, so far, is the Ghostly Galaxy. Just awesome! My favorite boss battle, so far, is with Bouldergeist!
This game is why everyone should own a Nintendo Wii. It is that great of a game. I can't say enough great things about it. By far, this is my favorite Mario game!

Renting?! Oh no, this is no rental! This game should be the centerpiece for anyone that owns a Wii!
Put it on your Christmas list, if you have to. This is a MUST OWN title, my friend!

I have to agree this is the game at the moment, and maybe for awhile, for the Nintendo Wii.
