the DS is better because you have fun on the games unlike the PSP which only focuses on the graphics. a couple problems with the PSP is the broken pixal issue where Sony won't fix it unless you have a certain percentace broken so if you have 40% broken they won't fix it but if it had 70% broken they'll fix it, and the other problem is the battery life which doesn't last long at all. but i'm thinking of geting one because of a prequel to a game i have which reveals loads of stuf but it's PSP only

and it's supossidly the last game in the series. if your wondering what it is it's Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core.
i hope if they make a PSP 2 they'll use a rechargeable battery with a long life, get rid of everything that has nothing to do with the games, make the games cartridges instead of CDs, and try to make it fun-orineted instead of graphic-orineted.

In case you haven't bought a PSP yet. Wait until September or October this year.
At E3 it was announced that the PSP Slim is coming out. A core pack and Daxter Pack will be available in September, and a Star Wars Battlefront pack in October.
Ice Silver and Ceramic White are the new colors for the PSP Slim.
The PSP Slim will be smaller and lighter, have a faster drive, and longer battery life. You can also hook the PSP Slim up to a HDTV to view "content".
The core will be $169.99, and the two packs will be $199.99 each.

Oh dear.
Read this on the new PSP's battery life.

I really was getting excited about the new PSP. It appeared Sony understood most of what was wrong with the old system, and were fixing it. They've even shown good, original games designed for quick, mobile gaming.
And then this bombshell is dropped. For every step forward, they take 2 backwards. And the stupidity of putting looks ahead of function just dumbfounds me.
I am no longer PSP excited. Silent Hill Origins be damned.

I have a DS, and I am a bit of a Nintendo Nerd, but the new slimline PSP was going to serve as an incentive towards me finally picking up a PSP (I've ummed and ahhed about it for several years nows). However, the fact that it looks to be less portable (i.e. in terms of longevity, as I'd mainly be using for long trips etc).
Plus, recent comments by the increasingly obnoxious Michael Ephraim (Managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia and New Zealand) about giving us the same Star Wars value pack as the US pretty much sums up my feelings on buying their gaming products: "[We are] still considering it."

Get the new Slim PSP. I own a PSP right now, and I love it, but will trade it in for the new PSP coming later this year. The game I am playing right now for the PSP is.....Parapper the Rapper. This game is such a classic, and the story is so amazing. If anyone ever played the original Playstation game, it the same thing, but portable!! Other games that are great on the PSP are, depends what you like, but here is the list.
1. Metal Gear Solid P.O.
2. Ratchet and Clank
3. Daxter
4. GTA Stories
5. Syphon Filter Dark Mirrior
Game that are on there way
1. Crazy Taxi
2. God Of War
3. Syphin Filter Logan's Shadow
I am sick of how everyone thinks that the DS is better, and how greats the games are, when in fact about 90% of the games have to due with Mario. How many fricken games can NINTENDO make with that guy? Look don't get me wrong, my 1st every system was the original Nintendo, I loved it when I was 8 years old. Now though, as I get older I can't stand these games.
The PSP alson can hold music, play movies, and hold pictures. Not only that you can surft the web, with WiFi accsess.
It is up to you though, if you really even play handheld. If you don't, don't bother buy either, and get a console, which I perfer the PS3.

You are so wrong, you don't even have a clue what you are talking about. The DS has a HUGE library of games, with a majority of them NOT featuring Mario.
The PSP is nothing more than a way for Sony to port games over to a portable platform. That's all.
Yeah, now that you are older, you are so hardcore. Seriously. You may be older, but, you don't act like it.

Chill out, I have the right to my own opinions too! Do you work for NINTENDO or something? Your comment made me look, as if I said something personal about you. People take things so seriously around here....

I really like my PSP and am glad I got it. I really got it for Crisis Core but thankfully there are some other games I'm very interested in getting. Final Fantasy Tactics is also incredibly fun and I've got Jeanne D'Arc and Valkyrie Profile waiting in the wings.
Yeah, I do love my RPGs. xD

Everyone with a PSP should rush out and get Dracula X for it. Not only does it contain that game, but also the FULL Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as a easy unlockable extra.
SOTN is one of the best games ever made. Period.

I just found a great-condition SOTN (PS1) at a pawn shop, for 2 bucks!

I expect I won't be seeing you on the forum for the next few months. You'll be too busy playing one of best games ever made. Period.

I just got a PSP today and I noticed there were not that many games (or accessories for that matter) available to buy.
The game that came with my system (Ratchet and Clank Size Matters) is kind of fun.
I plan to buy the following games
Daxter
GTA Liberty City Stories
GTA Vice City Stories
Secret Agent Clank

There's a ton of stuff out there, depending on what you like (says the guy who doesn't even have a system yet!)
If you are an RPG fan, there are a lot of titles from Nippon Ichi, and stuff like the Star Ocean releases, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, and so on.
Then there is Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, God of War, Loco Roco, and more.
Just take a look at a Best Buy, Game Stop, or online to find other games.
There are a lot of apps you can get on the system, as well. You can even play Playstation 1 games on it (either through a gray-market app, or by purchasing some of them from the Sony store online.)

The PSP, like the DS, isn't even using its full potential on official games.
I have TONS of apps on my DS, such as an IRC applet... calendar/organizer, the web browser (OK, well that one's official), music/movie player... etc.
The PSP can also do that, where it'll play GBA/SNES/even GBA games. And it can play way more than mp4 videos... Although unlike the DS, there's not just a flash cart you can buy and put stuff on.
My friend has a hacked PSP, though, and it's pretty sweet. I wouldn't even think of buying a PSP if it wasn't possible to run homebrew on it. (And probably, the next system I get will be a PSP since I have all 3 big consoles and a DS)
I dunno, I guess I just think for these handheld systems, the games aren't even the best part. I haven't liked a DS game that's come out since mid-2007... but yet you can still do all sorts of cool stuff with home made programs.

I was scrolling the forum and found this topic.
Anyway, I use my PSP for converted videos, seeing as how I don't have an ipod. I've also played FFVII on it, and that game is sweet. Square's PSP games are likely to be what I buy the most for this system.
