Cowboy Bebop was inelgible because it was originally released in Japan two years back, and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas was not even submitted by Dreamworks for Academy consideration.

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas was not even submitted by Dreamworks for Academy consideration.
Why would Dreamworks not even submit it? I know it was bad and it flopped at the theaters, however, it would probably pick up sales at the store if it at least was nominated as a contender....cough...cough...

I think Dreamworks have another agenda. Now they're comitted to no more 2D animation, they don't want any extra home video sales of Sinbad muddying the waters. It would be bad politically given their business plan.

Either that, or Dreamworks is being run by reverse vampires who are implementing a plot to eliminate the meal of dinner.

But then again....

OK, I don't know what's happening, but these critics are just turning away from Brother Bear compeletely. This particular award had eight nominations and it still didn't honor Brother Bear! The nominees are:

The Triplets of Belleville
Finding Nemo
Millenium Actress
Looney Tunes: Back in Action
The Animatrix
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
Destino
Kill Bill: Volume One (anime sequence)

Whacky! :o

It doesn't surprise me at all. They want to see Disney fail, they get off on that sort of thing. Also, you have to actually see the movie in order to nominate it. I went to a number of Disney sneak previews last years and each time there were seats reserved for the critics and each time they never bothered to show up. Lame. :(
