The target in Baton Rouge had about 3 copies w/ slipcovers but they were still 20 bucks. Tomorrow after I go see At World's End I'll go see if Best Buy has any.

Thanks!

I noticed it too. Today, I bought Toy Story 2 with slipcover. A few weeks back, I had bought Bugs Life with slipcover for 15 dollars, and noticed that the toy story 2 dvds they had did not have slipcovers. It seems like they acquired some that did have them

Last week I went to Best Buy and found ABL with a slipcover for $12.99, and of course I picked up a copy! Both Toy Storys were on sale for $12.99, and TS2 had a slipcover (it does everywhere I go) but TS1 did not, so I passed on it.

Got it last week from Amazon with a slipcover. Doesn't add too much though since they case itself is just as shiny.

Yeah, I went into my local Best Buy today and there were a few copies of A Bugs Life with slipcovers in perfect condition, they must have been brand new. Wonder what is with the surge of new copies?

I read Lord of the Flies. It sucked. Bad. From your user name I assume you were born in '93? So is it safe to assume you're reading it for your freshman year of High School? I had to read Lord of the Flies for my freshman year. Good luck reading it! :)

The Princess Bride movie is great; I would assume the book is too. Don't know about Lord of the Flies though.

The Lord of the Flies is gorey. I still get grossed out when I think about Piggy dying and his brains were all everywhere. Besides that it's a fast read.

Princess Bride is fantastic.

The Rescuers DVD

I just bought it this week and what's the deal with the Rescuers DVD? That film print is TERRIBLE!!! It has to be one of the worst Disney has ever put out on DVD and if anything deserved a recall and replacement program it is this DVD. That poor quality wouldn't have cut it on home video, why insult us with a DVD like this? Were the laserdisc versions any better? Did the last laserdisc have that image of the naked woman in the window like the VHS tapes had that got recalled?

Lord of the Flies is best understood when you're a bit older (like 17/18 ). I don't think a 14 year old could stomach it. It's a fascinating story that makes you wonder just how far back one could fall. That is, what exactly is that breaking point when you decide to lose all sense of discipline and follow the primitive instincts inside you that have been held back for so long.

After you read the book, I suggest renting the 1960 version of the movie (the DVD is by Criterion, so renting would be cheaper than blindbuying.), and while it's a bit dry and not too high in the budget, it captures the feel and essence of the book better than the 1990 version. Don't watch the movie before reading the book, though. It would limit the imagination you'd have for the characters and situations while reading.

As for The Princess Bride, I've never read the book (though I hear it is quite good), but the movie is a timeless classic.

AFAIK, only the January 1999 VHS tapes have the naked woman in them, since the 1992 VHS and laserdiscs were fixed to remove it, as was the March 1999 VHS and laserdiscs.

Triple-dipping on A Bug's Life? I'd think by now it's sextuple-dipping ;)
