Think about it.........that was a very silly thing to say........
I know it was a silly thing to say - that's why I said it, in an attempt to spread a little sweetness and light to the forum. That's also why I added a phalanx of smilies to the end, to denote how silly it was.
But you've got to admit, you can't hold a house or a car in your hand. Maybe you should buy a shop; you could hold a shop in your hands, but only if you were a shoplifter to begin with...
(C'mon, you've got to smile a little at that one!)
My advice is be vary wary of shopping on line, you really don't save that much money, after shipping and handling, that you can't just go down to your local store and buy what you want.
But, as Lars so correctly points out, some of us can't go down to the local store and handle the merchandise. What can I say - we're not Americans - our parents stuffed up.
But we take precautions; I would never use my credit card online, instead using a debit card linked to a bank account with a balance that's usually near zero. That way, even if someone gets my card details, they can't rip me off for more than about $2.62 (and that's $2.62 Australian, which is worth about 7c in American money

).
If we didn't buy online
(he says, tenuously dragging the thread towards topic), there'd be a whole lot more titles that would be very hard to come by for us non-USAians. Or at the very least, much more expensive - there's a DVD import store in town here that has the unmitigated gall to charge AU$75 for a Treasure Tin that you could pick up for less than half that online.

Song of the South and The Black Cauldron are the most challenging to locate and its really to bad because I know Disney will not be re-release them, well atleast not Song of the South.

Is The Black Cauldron really that hard to find? Every once in a while my local Costco will get in 4 Disney gold collection titles for $10.99 each. The last batch they had included The Black Cauldron and The Three Caballeros and that was maybe a month or two ago.
The one I'm having the most trouble finding is "Stitch! The Movie" lol.. I mean, other than Song of the South of course. I'd also like to see "So Dear to my Heart" which I understand was never released on DVD in region 1.

So Dear To My Heart was released in Brazil and is Region 1 and 4. It has 25 minutes of deleted/alternate footage and a few other extras.

The Black Cauldron is really easy to find here... it is still on sale in a lot of stores here! Including Wal-Mart! Did you look in your local Wal-Mart?

ive never looked for it, but i loved that disney movie with the dad from growing pains and his son chip the robot...i know you know what i mean. I would watch it over and over. I know they did 2 and 3 but the first one was my favorite. The boy who played Chip is now a youth pastor but he still does the odd commercial here or there...i saw him a couple weeks ago in a dog food commercial which was what reminded me of the movie

Sorry for sticking to the off-topic subject of this thread, but I wanted to comment on the whole not buying online thing.
I work in HR, and there are about 20 people in our company who refuse to get direct deposit, therefore their checks get delivered to me and I have to bring it to them on payday. I have asked them why they don't just get direct deposit, and some of them have had something screw up with it before, and won't try it again.
I've been doing this for 10 years, and to be truly honest - the odds are better of their check getting lost (either from the outsourced payroll department, in the mail, or even ON MY DESK) then direct deposit screwing up (and even if the latter occurs, the chances of it being fixed within 24 hours are tremendously huge).
Same with online buying -- the security of reputable websites (such as Amazon.com) has increased astronomically within the past five years. Again I would wager to say that your chances of running into a wallet theif or cashier that will photographic memorize your credit card number is greater than the chance of something going wrong when you buy online. Most credit and debit cards have a policy where your money will be refunded within hours if something fraudulent happens.
Mark my words - there will come a time in the near future where you will find it hard to live without buying online.
I'm sorry something happened to you, by the way. I just don't know what I would do without Amazon.com. It has become one of my friends.

Just for the "principle of things" I hope that "real stores" and "real money" won't go away anytime soon...
But amazon and other internet stores certainly have given us opportunities we never had before.

I think that's the "Not Quite Human" trilogy that was made for TV.
