She sings on her albums! Even Britney Spears (who I'm also a fan of) sings on her albums! And, the SNL incident was one time...she went back on SNL a while later and really sang.
Do you honestly believe that was the only time she ever lip synched? If so I have a bridge to sell you. It was the only time she ever got caught. She was so sleazy afterword blaming her band for it.

So many people in my lifetime have had bridges to sell me...lol.
It's very possible that she may have lipsynched other times, too. I was just saying that she sings live on her albums. Even Britney Spears, who usually lipsynchs live, sings live on her albums. And, I was just saying that, at a later date, Ashlee did go back on SNL and sing. Live.

dvdjunkie, I know that the Orange Bowl was all over the news. It was talked about constantly for quite sometime. What I'm saying is that I've never heard about (or seen) her flipping the bird at the end of the performance, and I've seen the video many times.
And for the record, good music is an opinion. I respected your opinion and was polite, but your last post was completely the opposite toward me. I'm not going to start a fight because that's not what this forum is about, but I am going to say that I don't appreciate your comment.
Oh, and honestly, I could care less if the record labels aren't interested in Ashlee Simpson (which they obviously are, both of her albums debuted at #1). All I know is that I'm interested in Ashlee Simpson and to me, that's really all that matters.
No hard feelings, but I respected your opinion and all I ask is that you respect mine.
Thanks.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Those charts are based on sales, so the interest is not in the record company (well, maybe as a cash cow) but the interest is from all the little lemmings that watch MTV and are told "buy this shitty album we're pushing and you'll be cool"

Wow, I'm amazed by the rudeness in this thread. I'm usually not the type of member that causes drama, so I'm just going to ignore it from now on and just post updates as well as read them.
Anywho, I think it's awesome that Ashlee is working with Robert Smith from The Cure! They are an AWESOME band! I'm also excited to see what she comes up with while working with John Legend. I'm not very familiar with his music, but from his performances that I've seen on television, it looks like he's a pretty talented guy.

The official release date has been announced and it looks like November 7 is going to be a great day for Ashlee Simpson fans! Not only that, but her new song
They Say I Get Away With Murder has leaked it's way into the internet! You can listen to it
here. Scroll down a bit until you see a play button.
It's definitely not what I was expecting, but I really like it! I knew that her next album was going to be a lot different than her last, but that's a much bigger change than I had imagined. It's awesome!
Oh and by the way, it has yet to be announced if <i>They Say I Get Away With Murder</i> will be her first single, but I'd be willing to bet that it will be.
I can't wait!

(From that link, go to page 2, and it's there, as of now.)
I wish whoever recorded it had registered their version of WireTap Pro...it almost ruined listening to the song hearing that warning...geesh!
But, thanks for posting the link, Prince Ali!
No!!!!!! I'm listening to it as we speak- Ashlee Simpson put RAP in her song?!?!?! WTF? I never thought she'd stoop so low. I mean, I'm a fan of hers, but that's just unnecessary.

It's not her best song. I'm sure the song would grow on me, if it is actually going to be really-for-real released...I think the Middle Eastern-influenced music is just different...it worked better for Mandy Moore, I think...but, regardless of anything else, it's good to hear anything new by Ashlee.

I agree to an extent, blackcauldron. I really didn't like the song when I first heard it, which was a surprise. However, after another listen, I was hooked! As you've already stated, I'm sure it will grow on you.
More good news, ANOTHER song has leaked. Apparently this song was played at a party hosted by some teen magazine and the audio was recorded with a cell phone, so the quality is a bit low. The song is called <i>I Don't Wanna Fight</i> and you can listen to it
here. I'm not too sure how I feel about this one.

Thanks for posting!!! I like "I Don't Wanna Fight" better than TSIGAWM. IDWF sounds more like an Ashlee song, and it's pretty catchy!!!

"Right now, the record's done," Simpson told MTV News, "but I'm one [of those types where] I like to continue to write, write, write. [The album is slated for release] in March, and the single is in January."
The first single, for which she's shooting the video in December, is the Timbaland-produced "Out of My Head (Ay Ya Ya)." It's a song that her father Joe previously joked was about Ashlee's mom, Tina, though Ashlee explained it was about everyone in her life. "It's about too many voices, too many people having their own opinion," she said, "so it's not necessarily about my mom. I love my mom — there's no sides here — and my dad gets to hear me say all the sweetest things about him. It's mainly a fun, dancey song. I think it's got a little bit of an '80s feel to it, too — you'll hear that in it. But at the same time, it's Timbaland."
...
And so accordingly, there are a lot of different sides to Ashlee musically on the yet-untitled album, though some songs that she worked on with Beth Hart and John Legend may be shelved for a later release. Some of the songs that might make the cut draw from her theater experience in "Chicago" ("Follow You Wherever You Go"), while others are more attitude songs ("Rulebreaker," "Ragdoll"). Some express more through rap ("Murder"), and others through vulnerability.
"There's ballads, there's an emotional progression," she said, "because you never know what kind of emotion you're going to be going through. It's definitely a quirky record."
Is the album really-for-real coming out in March?!? I hope they're not going to push back the date any more! I can't wait to hear the new single!

I would say that I'm excited, but I'm not going to get my hopes until there is an official announcement from Ashlee herself.
I understand that they want this album to be great, but good grief, pick up the pace! We've been waiting for over two years! Ashlee fans, like myself, are starting to get impatient!

Whoo!
You should all listen to Ashlee's new single,
Outta My Head, on
AOL Music NOW! Also, it will be available on iTunes on December 11.
My day has been made!
EDIT: I just realized how many times the single has changed (as well as song titles). Seesh! Well, at least we finally have some for-sure information.

I'm listening to it right now...it sound extremely '80s-ish! Upon initial listens, I prefered "Pieces of Me" and "Boyfriend", but it's not bad- I know that it'll definitely grow on me, and I'm sure that I'll buy the CD, since I like her others.

Just thought I'd mention that I
love "Outta My Head". Ali, you'd be proud.

The video is glorious, just glorious!

And believe me, Merman, I am proud.
EDIT: I know this is old news, but I don't think I ever posted anything about it. For those who care, the titles for
They Say I Get Away With Murder and
I Don't Wanna Fight were changed to
Murder and
Rule Breaker. Again, I know this is old news, but I figure it's better late than never.

Oh my god I can't stop listening to this. My favorite part is when she goes into the "And all I hear is ay ya ya ya ya..." part.
GET OUTTA MY HEAD ASHLEE!

Looks like the release date for <i>Bittersweet World</i> has been made official: April 15, 2008!
Not only that, but iTunes will be releasing an exclusive digital <i>Outta My Head</i> EP this Tuesday! The EP will contain Ashlee's current single, <i>Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)</i>, <i>Rulebreaker</i> (<u>another</u> track from her new album

), as well as <i>Catch Me When I Fall</i>, which was a track from her last album.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Ashlee also released a new track to a Los Angeles radio station this past Friday. The song is called <i>Boys</i>, and you can download the radio version
here!
This has been a <u>fantastic</u> weekend for Ashlee Simpson fans!
