Unfortunately, I'd be ineligible for free dining plans regardless of holding an annual pass or not. The curse of being a castmember...

I too am technically a cast member, so does that make my family unable to get the free meals? I know they can't win any of the million dreams. Also, I've been meaning to ask you Escapay. I know we get discounts on rooms, but does that apply to my family? And do they cap you off at a certain number of times? Because I think my mom will be coming down for 3 days a month to see me and she is using up all of our 2007 DVC points in July.

So long as *they* don't know that *your family* is related to you, they can still get free meals when they reserve. So unfortunately, you can't give them your castmember discount on the room either. Castmembers just can't get the free dining plan deal, since they figure our hotel discount should be enough for us.

Technically, we're also not allowed to cash in our Disney Movie Rewards points either, and our families can't either. But I simply used the argument that since I'm a seasonal castmember, the times when I don't work is a loophole that allows Kram (who collects the points) to keep collecting and redeem them. After all, I wasn't "employed" in their service from September 2006 to May 2007, so any points bought and redeemed then are perfectly legitimate.

To get the discount for family members, we have to reserve the room ourselves, and technially we're *supposed* to actually be staying with them in the room. But what everyone does is simply be there for check-in, then go their merry way. In 2005, our family just stayed at our timeshare hotel, so Jane and I didn't have to get a hotel for them. But last year I reserved a room for them at Port Orleans Riverside, and chose to stay with them for four days. Was supposed to be five, but my shift on the fifth day was too early for me to take a Port Orleans bus to Magic Kingdom (I had 7 am stock, and the Port Orleans busses wouldn't leave until 8:30 or so). So I had them drop me back at my apartment on the fourth night, and I just saw them after my shift on the fifth day, then saw them off on the sixth.

So basically, I should cash in my DMRs quickly. That's weird that I'm not even eligable for that. It's not like the discount on DVDs is so huge that I'm taking them to the bank by entering my codes. Anyways, that's awesome about the hotels. I will more than likely stay with my family as much as possible when they come. I'm getting really excited. What day do you arrive? I'm on the 23rd. I'm going to a party held at UWM in a week to get a chance to meet other students from Wisconsin doing the program.
