I didn't feel the same sense of loss and grief for Simba or Bambi that I did for Kala. Mufasa and Bambi's mother both knew they were in terrible danger before they died, where Kala's baby was innocently playing. I wasn't expecting the baby to die, where Mufasa and Bambi's mother's death I could see coming. It was more of a shock to me and a greater tragedy.

It's not as iconic as the death's you mentioned, but it sticks with me more than either of them do.

I understand, but my point is that "Kala's baby" isn't exactly a full blown character by any means (hence, the crewman #6 comparison), but rather a prop meant to serve the story by stirring up sympathy for Kala herself.

It's the scene in The Lion King where Simba's plan to distract the hyena's is to have Timon "dress in drag and do the hula."

To this day, I find myself hysterical laughing every time I watch it.

I have a lot of favorites but one of them is when Pinocchio dies and becomes a real boy. That always get to me; the sorrow then the joy. Animation wise I like the hug Mufasa gives Raffiki in the Lion KIng. I really like the mix of live action and animation in Song of the South. It blows everything else away.


And if we're talking parodies, I love that SOTS parody Saturday Night Live did. Mickey has some kids over to the Vault and they keep finding Disney's dirty little secrets like Walt's frozen corpse and a cbound and gagged Jim Henson in the dungeon because "He wouldn't sell! He wouldn't sell!" But the one that took the cake is when the kids found a copy of Song of the South and Mickey tries to stop them from seeing it, saying "Oh, nobody likes that movie anymore" Then they play it and it's actual footage from the film of Uncle Remus strolling along and singing new lyrics "Zippity Doo Dah, Zippity Yay. Negroes are inferior in everyway. Whites is much cleaner. Dat's what I say. Zippity Doo Dah, zippity yay..." and it sounds EXACTLY like the film score and Remus' voice. I always laugh at this because it's what people THINK is in SOTS and this mocks those people's belief.

Well, to find out how I do anything technical... Just Quote the post I do it in. I did that with Aaron's music Artist Discussion thing and that's how I found out how to do it.

This is how:

ONLY - of course, make sure to delete the spaces between the < and the img and the "0" and the > that I left in to show you. Then, of course, change the width and height to whatever you want (300 / 225 is best for fullscreen, 400 / 225 is best for the slimmer widescreen angles, and 450 / 200 is best for 2.35:1 without the bars, and 350 / 200 with the bars).
