Holy Hell, I'd forgotten all about this movie. I'll pick up the DVD for nostalgia if nothing else.

OMG, I've completely forgotten this movie as well. My little sister, little brother, and I used to watch this film all the time. Wow, I'm super excited!

When I was a kid I used to love, love, LOVE this movie. To me, it was nearly perfect. The music was really good, the voice acting was top notch, the characters extremely lovable and even the story was rock solid. I saw it a lot of times and nearly memorized Rex's song at the parade.
But when I watched it on Cartoon Network a few years back I realized that it wasn't as fantastic as I thought it was. Its still a fun little film, but it ain't no masterpiece.
I still enjoy the music and the voices, but the plot is somewhat weak, ruined by a villain that tries hard to outdo whatever Disney did at the time but ends up short.
I would, however, say that its an underrated film despite its flaws. Like I said, the voice acting is really solid with some unusual performances. While John Goodman did great as Pacha in "Emperor's New Groove" and Sulley in "Monster's Inc." Rex is my favorite voice role.
The representation of New York is stunning. I just love how they snuck the Thanksgiving Day Parade, balloons and all, in there.
So yeah, solid little film.
