Does anyone know which ALICE cartoon that will be included?
This will be the ONLY reason for me to buy the disc (if I don“t have the Alice cartoon already of course!)
The other stuff sounds silly

The Alice Comedy included is called Alice's Wonderland, which is the very first one made. It's the one where Walt himself makes a cameo in the beginning as an animator.

Now that will be cool to see. Well worth getting another Alice in Wonderland DVD.

I'm confused.... will the song actually be in the film or is it just a demo of the song? I think this is really really dumb if it's actually in the movie - leave the classics alone!

I'm looking forward to it as much as everyone, but I wish they would bring some of the other classics to a Special Edition before some of these.

a few people have asked this question.....but to no avail.

please, does anyone know if this song will be integrated?

the press release makes it sound to me like it was completely animated and then forgot about when it was cut from the film. it sounds like they just found this and were like, "holy crap.....another song!" and were rushed to get it back in. if anyone has any info as to the completion of this song, or if it will be branched and allow the original version to be shown.....please say so. i'm just dying to find out more about this vault discovery.

Add my voice to the cry of "where is One Hour in Wonderland?" Frankly, if it's not there, then my interest in the DVD just went WAY down. I only want it for Alice's Wonderland, Operation Wonderland and One Hour in Wonderland. Two out of three ain't bad, but I really want One Hour.

PLEASE don't let me down here, Disney! You're already on my bad side with the Treaasure delay.

I don't know if anyone noticed this but, in the Disney website it reads:
Songs:
Very Good Advice; All In The Golden Afternoon; The Walrus And The Carpenter; The Caucus Race; I'm Late; Painting The Roses Red; March Of The Cards; 'Twas Brillig; A Very Merry Unbirthday; I'm Odd
Did you guys noticed? They have placed "I'm Odd" in the film song listing. So I think that the sng will be added into the film... Oh, I hope I'm wrong but this sort of prooves something, what do you guys think?

:? :? :?

I miss the time when Disney used to give us the complete list of extras. Remember the wonderful "Snow White" home page? There you could find EVERYTIHING that was going to be on the DVD.
Now, they promote the kiddie features, two or three of the meatty extras and the rest they just include on the "Much, Much More" category. :x

Do you think the I'm Odd sequence is done since the fifties? It's a possibility. Maybe they did that sequence in the alice time but then decided not to include it... until now.

i hope that Disney doesnt cut out certain scenes like what they did in the Lion King. i also hope that the new scene is really a newly discovered scene and not a scene that was created this year for the movie. :x

I so agree!

Adding in the song "I'm Odd"

Hello, I'm new here and I have a comment on this "adding a song" idea.

Personally, I feel that as long as the original version of the film is also availible, it's perfectly fine to add a song, even if it was animated last year (though my preference for this is that it would have been that it was animated in the fifties too since animation styles differed so much back then). I like seeing a different take on movies (that's why they're called "Special Editions" I think).

Beauty and the Beast added "Human Again" and it was wonderful! Though I didn't like the "digital clean up" they did to the backgrounds for the rest of the movie (read: clean up, not restoration), I was happy to see that my favorite movie of all time could now be seen a little different. And sure enough the DVD includes BOTH versions of the film so the "cleaned up" backgrounds can still be seen "dirty"

The Lion King added "Morning Report" and it was horrible. I was never a fan of TLK to begin with, but when I heard that they were adding a song, I hoped that there would be some character development with Simba in the jungle (which I thought the film lacked) and instead they alter the pace of the film entirely by stopping the movie so Zazu could sing. They took a dissapointing movie (in my opinion- I know there are fans here) and made it more dissapointing. Still, the original version is also present on the DVD.

Now, the possibility comes up for a sequence to be added into "Alice In Wonderland." I admit it, I'm not a "Disney Purist" that signs petitions to stop Disney sequels from ever being made. I say if you don't like the Disney sequels- DON'T WATCH THEM. The same type of person that might be offended by the addition of a song to a "classic" film (where in the timeline do we draw the line at "classic"- "The Jungle Book"?). I think adding a song would be cool. I'm not a big "Alice" fan. I have the first DVD, but the extra features that you all seem to gush over don't interest me (with the possible exception of the Alice Comedy if only for the historical value). Probably the only way I'll buy this is IF there is a new song added into it- AS LONG AS THE ORIGINAL VERSION IS ALSO PRESENT. My guess, however, is that it will not be integrated into the film, just shown seperately in whatever version it's in. My reasoning for this is that on BATB and TLK, their covers proudly stated "Featuring an All-New Music Sequence" and "Featuring an All New Song" respectively while "Alice" states "Includes A Virtual Wonderland Party" which only makes me roll my eyes and not want to buy it. I buy DVDs for the film content- not the games which I feel are a waste of space on the disk.

My reasons for this so very long rant have to do with the upcoming release of "Pocahontas." Have any of you noticed that the preview says "Featuring an all-new song 'If I Never Knew You' performed by Mel Gibson. My assumption is that this will be in the pencil-test/ completed animation version that was on the laserdisk and the ABC airing a few years back. But if it's at all possible that this song was completed and edited back into the film (after test audiences found it "boring")- oh man! That would make the long wait I've had since the original DVD release all worth it. Upon finally seeing this song a few years ago on the ABC airing (I never owned a laserdisk player) I instantly felt that it would have not only fit perfectly into the film, but would have tied ends together visually (the reflection of John Smith in the water like the reflection of Kokohum earlier in the film) and made that film one of my favorite films ever.

Basically, if a new song is added into "Alice" then I will support Disney doing this buy buying it if only for the possibility of the inclusion of "If I Never Knew You" for Pocahontas. If there is anyone else that agrees abuot Pocahontas, you might want to think about this.

I hope they don't add any songs in. They ruined the Lion King by doing that. Since the Beauty and the Beast was made when it was going to come out in theaters the first time that was ok. If they just made it for this years movie the voices are all different. I HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT  :!:
