Bill doesn't have a DVD-ROM, IIRC, so he could probably only give you the date on the disc.
Don't have Volume Four yet, but my review copy of Volume One is disc-dated at 10/23/06, if that's any help.

Ok first let's save our reciepts. I'm pretty sure they'll ask us to send them in for proof in order to get a replacement. According to what happens next I will call Disney just give me the number. I was thinking of going to Best Buy tomorrow, but what if I get another dvd with the same issue? I just need to know one thing, for anybody who has called them before, are they polite and easy to talk to? Or are they rude? Just wanna be prepared.

There seems to be a feeling that Disney won't send replacement discs to people outside America, but from my experience they've been more than happy to send me replacements in the UK for faulty discs.
I live in The Netherlands and I had no problem receiving a replacement for my Elfego Baca disc of the Baca/Swamp Fox treasure last year.
Only thing they wanted to make sure that the other disc was not also faulty before they sent me the disc to prevent additional shipping costs. That's fair enough for me!

Just received the Legacy Collection titles last weekend.
My "Prowlers" has the wrong color coding too (currently sending a support message to Disney through their site).
Date on the laser-side of the disc: 10/23/2006

All your worries can be laid to rest. I received a call from the technical people at Disney in response to the call I placed last week. The fellow I talked to was very knowledgeable and friendly. He tested out specifically what I had told Disney over the phone last week and verified we were correct. He said technicolor caused the error and they were in the process of fixing the problem. He wasn't sure how long it would be until they started replacing the erred discs. I had already contacted Disney and so they are going to send me a pre-paid label to send them the bad DVD. They will replace it free of charge. Everyone just need to contact Disney at some point (but there is no need to hurry) to get the disc replaced.
P.S. Escapay, you don't need to feel guilty for not having observed the color switch in your review. There is no one alive who would have figured out that solution at the speed in which you needed to complete your review.

I did my duty today and called Disney. It took a little while to explain everything to the operator, who then routed me to a technician.
In regards to Prowler of the Everglades, the technician did acknowledge the problem. He added, however, that Disney has not made a determination yet if they are going to do a replacement. If they did, they would call back per the contact information provided when I initially contacted them.
(And regarding the Secrets of Life aspect ratio issue, same story. They are looking into it, don't know what they are going to do, will call back if they do replace, blah, blah, blah).
I'd probably recommend calling Disney to at least increase the volume of calls on this issue so that it stays on their radar:

They send me an e-mail telling me to call them. So basically they're not replacing dvd's at the moment right? So how would I go about getting a normal dvd? I mean if I return it to Best Buy, how will I know I'm getting the correct one?

I'm not sure there is a sure-fire way to know at this point, assuming that correct versions are on the shelves (which is a big assumption at this point). Worst case scenario is that you return the DVD, get a new one, and it's also defective, so you continue the cycle.

Does the date the dvd's were shipped to the retailers matter? For instance let's say Best Buy still has old stock back where they keep their storage. I would ask a guy to go back there and check for older copies of these dvd's. Perhaps maybe just maybe they'll give me one of the older ones and it'll be ok. I would need my dad to go with me since he's demanding (but in a polite way), cause if I go they'll just be lazy and tell me they don't have any and if my dad goes he'll make them go or see to it that it get's done. After all it's their job, right? I'll let you guys know what happens if I decide on doing this.

I wouldn't waste my time with Best Buy. I would just go straight to Disney. Best Buy isn't really who created the problem and sometimes some of their employees can be rather disagreeable (I am not trying to stereotype). I think it would be much easier for you to just give Disney a ring--they are almost always nice.

I'm actually color-blind and even I could see something was drastically wrong! Here's hoping Disney offer replacements!

I just called Disney and they will notify me when they have a plan in place. They are aware of the problems with both discs. I guess we'll just have to sit and wait.
