I know I've said this many times, numba1, but you REALLY need to go to one of their shows! It is seriously like the funnest time you'll ever have in your life! Ugh, they deserve to be so much more famous than they are. They've been blessed with SOOO much talent, it's not even funny!
I really (on an unhealthy level) wanted to go to their concert in San Antonio, but I didn't have the money or any friends who wanted to go with me...

But, believe me, I agree with you!

My vote goes to Lynwood, probably the only new album I bought this year.

I vote for Hawk Nelson's Smile, It's The End Of The World.
That was defintately a great album, however I don't think it stands up compared to Good Monsters (Jars of Clay), Sound of Melodies (Leeland), or The Face of Love (Sanctus Real).

IMO, the best album of the year has to be... AWAKE, by JOSH GROBAN.

I am not pleased to say that I have yet to hear those albums. But, Hawk Nelson is my favorite band, so I doubt the others will hold up in my eyes... :P
i have no doubt, however, that they are good.

I tried to inclued half of the ones you have listed here (Justin Timberlake, John Mayer, Josh Groban), but it told me that I have entered too many options.

Then delete Janet Jackson, Diddy, and Kelis since they're like RnB, and Hip Hop, Bowling For Soup since it's a kind of rock type band, and JoJo, Jessica Simpson, and Christina Milian since their quality, not to mention sales have gone down, and no one is voting for them.

Out of those, Weird Al's Straight Outta Lynwood is the only one worth a damn.

The best album of the year, hands down, is Continuum by John Mayer (says the ultimate John Mayer fanatic :P ). He started out as a sweet sounding pop singer and has elevated himself to one of the best blues artists to come around in years.

Cheers,
JM :thumb:

Definately the best CD of the year. It's got great tunes and it's two discs. What's not to like?
Besides, other than the Barenaked Ladies and the Doors greatest hits CD's, it's the only other CD I bought this year.

None of the above

My vote goes to Vince Gill for These Days. That is musicianship at its finest.

I am gonna go with Bob Seger's Face the Promsie.

I want to add two more CD's that I think should rank as Album of the Year:

Taylor Hicks - self-titled album that is really full of surprises. Check it out.

Katherine McPhee - another of the season 6 American Idol's and this album is wonderful. It includes her stirring performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Another good release this year.
