I sincerely hope it was less than 5 gallons or even 5 quarts as our bodies only have 6 quarts (1.5 gallons) in them!
Probably a figure of speech!

Best luck with the speedy recovery, junkie.
Not sure the above message completely erases all the insulting comments over the last few eons, especially the ones putting people down for having a differing opinion, but at least we are in a better position to understand why you've been the way you've been. For what it's worth, thanks for writing this. It take a bigger person to admit grumpiness...
...as long as you learn to be more tolerant, I'm sure we all now have a better understanding of what goes on behind the various words on screen. It is things like this that make you realise that forums are more than just words magically appearing from floating-head style avatars.

Just back from the doctor and I thought an update was in order.
They have found a small growth in my left foot and I will be going to the hospital tomorrow afternoon (Friday) for an outpatient procedure to get a biopsy taken to see what it is. I was looking at the same X-rays and I didn't see anything until the doctor circled it. Guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.
My new date to possible get into shoes for the first time since the 7th of October, and get back to work is December 1st. I hope so.
My Secret Santa assignment has no worries. I already have the gift, and am ready to mail it out, but will wait until December 1.
Anyway, thanks for all your responses, and I really do promise you all that this has really opened my eyes to all of my short-sightedness of some of the contributors here, and you will see a change effective today.
I will make an effort to become a more user-friendly contributor to the UD site. And again, I privately sent a PM to Escapay about this, but publicly it needs to be said, and that is his "awesome" bit was absolutely hilarious and I will be laughing for some time to come everytime I see the word Awesome in print or here it used in some conversation. Thanks Escapay!!

Awww. I hope you're up on your feet (not trying to be mean or anything) as soon as possible Junkie. This gives you the perfect excuse to watch as many DVDs as you possibly can before you go crazy. Sorry about having to wear the ugly hospital shoes too. Look on the bright side, at least you're not wearing the hospital gown that's open in the back.

This may sound a bit "over the top", but it seems we're experiencing a real-life "Scrooge" story here!

Nah, that's gotta stay! Otherwise I'll stop using pink elephants as a sign of protest!

New update - Saturday, November 18th.
Well, guys I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the biopsy found nothing malignant, but it did find that this growth is some sort of calcium deposit that has attached itself to the bone in between my third and fourth toe. It will require a simple Outpatient Clinic procedure which I am going to have done on Tuesday, which means that I will be wheelchair bound for Thanksgiving, but at least I will be on the road to getting back to work.
My new date for a return to work is January 2, 2007. Sounds like a long way off, but it is just around the corner.
Just thought you would like to know. And thanks for the well wishes, and again to Escapay for all the smiles.

That's too bad that you have to be in a wheelchair for a while. Hope you have a full recovery.

Almost 7:30 pm and I just woke up. Been home since around 4:30. Doctor says the surgery went fine. Good news is I don't have to be in a wheelchair for Thanksgiving.
Will go see him Saturday afternoon to get the stitches removed and for further evaluation. Hopefully this is the end, and I can get healed and get back to work. I thought it would be cool to sit around and watch movies all day, but even that gets old.
Got some good drugs to tolerate the discomfort with, so I will be flying high for the next couple of days.
See ya later.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!...........................UPDATE!!!!!!!!.................UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday, November 25th..........................................
Went to the doctor this afternoon and got the stitches removed from my left foot, and had a very positive re-evaluation of my going back to work situation.
The doctor says that my foot is healing very quickly, especially with my diabetes not helping things, and he really thinks that I will be able to go back to work by the 15th of December, instead of the 2nd of January. Yippeeee!!!!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I just found out what I am really Thankful for................a very good podiatrist who is taking very good care of me and my feet.
Thought you would all like to know.
