i've seen some at fye like dumbo 60th anniversary(which i bought), the original emperor's new groove, and even the lion king 1 1/2.

Im going to try blockbuster and maybe fye. I also went into a gamestop and they didnt have any disney movies, I really hate going into gamestop now a days anyway.

Used DVD's are as good as new ones as long as you buy them from a reputable business. With all the problems eBay is having with bootleggers, I would never take that chance.

It's not really being nit-picky. Often times, used DVDs are crap. You'd be surprised what some people do to their discs. I don't even rent DVDs anymore because they are in horrible shape. I don't buy used myself. I tried it a long time ago, but it did not work out and had to get a refund. I am after some out of print DVDs too, though nothing really major as far as Disney animation goes, mostly direct to video. Sometimes, finances just don't allow for buying things before they go out of print. Some movies go out of print fast, and so many good ones come out at once! Look at this holiday season's upcoming Disney DVD releases! I have no idea how I'm going to land the 4 Disney Treasures, PLUS the 4 True Life DVDs, PLUS the DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, and Gummi Bears sets, Plus Fox and the Hound 2 and possibly double dipping on Robin Hood, PLUS the big new Superman and Narnia sets, and I've already got a long list of stuff I need to catch up on... oy. I don't even want to think about it... But, I will still always try to avoid the used stuff...

Well, if you're able to look at the disc and it looks good, then you may pretty much trust that it is. Otherwise, I can easily understand your reluctance towards used discs.

I've also been getting alot of them off Amazon.com in the New and Used section. The used ones that I've bought have been very good thus far.

What's the cheapest you guys have paid for an new sealed OOP Disney movie?

I like going to Pawn Shops. They are normally very cheap there, normally 5 or less

Amazon Marketplace has all out of print Disney.

anyways yeah. im an obsessive compolsive freak that has to have everything brand new. im kidding. but I just dont like used dvd's at all because I use to get video games and movies used and they always have the damndest problems. so id much rather have it new.

i'm also like that, i can be really picky when it comes to buying dvds. if its not in a certain condition, then i probably wouldn't buy it unless if i'm in a tight situation where i don't have a choice but to buy it used.

Slave2moonlight, I think what you are really saying is that you don't know how to budget your money. By planning ahead, you can work out your spending so that you can get those "new" releases first, and the other "filler" stuff at a later date.

As far as used DVD's go, I don't know where you live or where you go shopping for used DVD's, but I have never had a bad experience buying a used DVD because most reputable places will let you look at the DVD first before you plunk down your money.

I would advise you to look at the CD tradepost website and see what they have there. I just picked up a WDT "Silly Symphonies" DVD, still sealed, for $15.99, and you can't touch that anywhere else for less than $30. It takes time to find a good place to buy used products, Disney or otherwise, but I have found CD Tradepost to be a good place, because they guarantee everything they sell for one year from the date of purchase. And, if you are lucky enough to have a CD Tradepost near you, you can listen to the CD you are buying or have a look at the DVD you are buying before you plunk down your money to pay for it. There isn't even a new store that you can do that.

Like Memnv, I get out.......something a lot of you don't seem to do.........and shop Pawn Shops, and every used DVD store, book store, and garage sale I can find. It is a lot of fun, and you never know what you may find. Like last weekend, I found at a garage sale a 7" Magnavox Portable DVD player complete, in a box, looked like it has never been used, for $25. I like getting around my city, and we are not a very small one, people think that Wichita is a little cowtown, but we are the largest city in the state of Kansas, with over 500,000 people, 9 (count 'em nine) Wal-Mart Supercenters, 5 Super Target stores, 3 K-Marts (down from 11), two huge shopping malls, four CD Tradepost locations, over 40 Pawn shops, and just lots of places to shop for DVD's new and used. Get out and look around, you would be surprised what you may find. Besides the fresh air will do you good.

And yes, we do have lots of EB's, GameStops, 2 Best Buys, 2 Circuit City's, 4 Border's Books, 3 B. Dalton Booksellers, and places like that to shop for DVD's and CD also.
