But it's too much of a difference even though PAL is faster than NTSC.
I'll try and get some numbers.

Well, 4% does make quite a bit of a difference in the running-time of a whole set.

well what i've been wondering is who to address the question of distribution to?! the various disney websites don't seem to be geared towards answering people's questions. when i did finally find a site that had anything resembling an email to contact for help i sent them my query about whether the treasures (aside from the 4 currently available) would ever be released over here (New Zealand) and they just told me to go to the australian disney site, (which doesn't seem to have any contact details) or else write to the NZ branch of Roadshow... but it's not like they're gonna know anything!

unfortunately, like i say they don't seem to be open to enquiries over at Disney CorpTM

i want donald volume2, complete goofy and complete pluto i hope the marketing department at disney read this and do something about it, but chances are they won't :x

They did with me. I send them a letter and I got a response two weeks later, saying that the next treasures to be released are TCD vol 2 and TCP vol 1, in 2007. No mention of the Goofy set, but hey, good to know they're still in production 8)

PS: The letter is in Spanish...if you want to read it anyway, tell me and I'll post it here

As you please...But I must warn you, most of the online traslator stink at translating Spanish in a properly way:

Wow, so it looks like Donald 2 and Pluto 1 will be released next year internationally. Maybe before that year is up, they will also Pluto 2 and Symphonies 2.

BTW, which Spanish was this, Latin American or European?

Latin American.

I doubt Pluto 2 or Symphonies 2 are gonna be released internationally until 2010 :( Don't ask me why, I suppose

here's a bad babelfish translation  :

My name is Rodrigo Aritzmendi and I am the one in charge of product TOON and Preescolar of the area of DVD in Disney here. Excuse by contestarte until now but was looking for the correct information to share it with you. Thanks for your commentaries, I share with you the idea that these Disney Treasures are a wonder; unfortunately by the cost of armed that has each masters (audio in Spanish, subtitles and others) the production cost too much rises and when not having a very high demand in our country it makes difficult to the commercialization and distribution to us of this product. For the next year we have programmed the launching of two new Disney Treasures: The Chronology of Donald 2 Vol. and Pluto Vol.1. The Disney Treasures of On The Front Lines never will be distributed outside the E.U. since the content is 100% propagandistic one and could affect the image of our mark if the historical context is not included/understood well in which that material was made. If you are fan and you have the opportunity to buy it in E.U. you I recommend it, it is a jewel! Treasure Disney of "Mickey Mouse in Black & White" it I have been requesting to our office in Burbank for two years, but as E.U. does not have doblajes in Spanish of all the short ones that are included in this DVD has not been developed, but I hope that soon it can give one more a more favorable answer you. Thanks for your restlessness and commentaries, I hope to have solved some of your doubts and if you have more please escríbenos restlessness, commentaries or suggestions. Greetings and good day,

I hate Disney for not realesing more of the Treasures, there are loads that I want but I only have a region 2 dvd player.

I think they would sell well with the right advertising too, the platinum edition dvds always seem to be top of the sales charts on places like Play so it shows Disney still has a strong following and I'm sure they can just about afford a front page advert to make people more aware of the Treasures.

It's time they releases a couple more at least, especially the sequels to the ones already released here.

I'm sure you could make it multi-region, what type is it?

A cheapo samsung one from years ago. It has DVD-S224 written on it if that means anything. I'm not the most technical person, by the way.
