The Disney Classics are great movies, and I feel for the most part that the sequels do not do the original films justice. My biggest beef about the Disney sequels is that they seem to borrow from other Disney films. A great example would be the Jungle Book II and The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea where the famous line "you deliberately disobeyed me" is used from The Lion King. Nevertheless, there are some sequels such as Toy Story 2, which have new concepts and scripts that have no relation to former Disney films.

I remember reading about bambi 3 from Newsweek and hearing about it from my friend (disney animator). Supposedly the idea was so unpopular that it was shot down within a month of the concept.
Now that I look back the idea of an angsty, depressed deer teenager (for real guys) is a pretty shity idea for a story

Here we go again. I think this is a pointless debate. Everyone will have a different opinion. The purists v. The completist. Remember this is not the books of the Bible we are talking about. Its a company trying to make money out of everything. As always, they can count on me.

You know, the CEO and Disney Stock holders should bow down to you and kiss your foot.

That's what they said about Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest (best title ever) but they made it and I own it. I've been saying it, haven't I been saying they'll make another Bambi sequel? Hopefully, it's an actual sequel cuz I'm interested in what they're going to make Bambi do as an adult. I do have some really good ideas on what they should do but unfortunately I'm not a Disney writer.
Back on subject...
Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest, (I share Escapay's spirit on the title) Brother Bear II and Rescuers Down Under are the only Disney sequels I own and I think they're good. RDU is my favorite, even though Bambi should be my favorite, I just like the plot better.

^^^ Agreed, I think most will probably agree that RDU is the best Sequal of them all (of course I think qualifying as part of the 44 classics has something to do with it as well)
