I would love to buy these. They look so elegant and well built. They reflect the characters from the movie sooo well. I could just imagine them being in my room, cateogorized by movie/chronological order. With the Fab Four, the Original Fab Five, and, of course, Fantasia being the biggest collections, of course with lots of other Disney figuriens, I couldn't control myself. I barely have any Disney merchandise besides the cute little plastic things that I got from Micky D's. Wow, you people are so lucky to have money to spend on things other than movies. Oh well, one of these days I'll have money, and get a Mickey/Sorcerer's Apprentice Figurine.

Some of these aren't too bad, Sequel of Disney. To join the club is $50 and you get a really nice figure. Then there is usually 1 to 2 statues that compliment it (this year it's scuttle and the visa exclusive flounder/sebastian, last year it was just a sheap to go with Belle) and they are another $40. However, joining the club doesn't give you any obligations to buy any more figures and you could simply wait and re-join next year if you like that figure. Like you, I just want at least one character from every film, but I'm in no hurry to do it. I'm just rushing to get the two from "Cinderella" that I want because they are retired and their value is escalating. Otherwise, I'm going to limit myself from now on to $50 a month, so every two months I can get 1 $99 figure, or if something big is out, like the Tink in her lantern which is limited, I will hold off for 5 months to get it. Some of them, which are amazing, are just too expensive. I used to collect Disney art, but my walls are getting crowded and I have no more room for it. So I'm now focusing my attention on smaller things and have decided upon the WDCC. I'm hoping that in 20 years, if it is still around, I will by then have a character from every film.

I was surprised with the Ariel sculpture. It's pretty big for a membership piece. It also looks like it would be worth more, at least in the same range with the Spotlight collection pieces. I just got the Sebastian/Flounder sculpture about a month ago, & it looks great with Ariel & Scuttle.
The first one I ever got was the Mickey: Then & Now piece. Now, thanks to a great Gold Circle dealer in my area (wonderful owners) & eBay, my collection has grown to an unbelievable level. I have a 2 curio cabinets full of them. I'm starting to run out of room.
I wish I could get the Mickey in the Whirlpool sculpture, but it's way out of my range. Besides, even if I did buy it, it wouldn't fit in my cabinet. It's WAY to big.
By the way, does anyone have any signed pieces?

For $50 you recieve a subscription to Sketches (a small magazine with cool Disney articles & sneak peeks of future sculptures), the ability to purchase "Members Only" sculptures, a membership card & the membership sculpture (Ariel) as well as other benefits.
The Ariel sculpture has got to be the most detailed & beautiful membership sculpture to date! It's taller, shinier & much more colorful than previous MP's. $50 is a UNBELIEVABLE price for a sculpture of this magnitude!
But hurry! The piece will only be availiable until the end of this year. Join, it's definitely worth it, especially if your a Disney fan!

You can either:
A) Find the nearest WDCC dealer in your area & fill out the form there.
B) Go here:
http://disneyshopping.go.com/DSSectionP ... _Id=195569
or C) Go to Enesco.com (consider this your last option, Enesco is so backed up they can't think straight & they're not up to date)
For more information on WDCC & membership, go to WDCCDuckman.com. It's the most up-to-date, detailed & informative site for WDCC's out there. Good Luck!

Enesco is who I ordered through. Maybe I should call and cancel and re-join through disneydirect.com.

It's really almost free to join because if you think about it you pay for the piece so it's not like 50 dollars for nothing. Now you can collect other pieces without joining but there are pieces that are members only and there are pieces that anyone can buy so it really depends what you want. And if you only join just to get ariel it is worth it!

Master Replica's have been doing Star Wars prop replica's for quite awhile now.
I went into the UK Disney Store today and had a splurge. They've got some gorgeous Princess Calendars in, some great new cushions (I got a Belle and Ariel one), and they've expanded The Little Mermaid plushes to include Scuttle, now you can get Ariel, Sebastian, Max and Scuttle.
Why is Disney merchandise so desirable these days???
LOL

I am not a part of the Disney Collectors Society, but it kind of sounds intriguing.

I joined earlier this year. A gallery opened last November here where I live, and now they have a lot of pieces!!! I got the membership through them with Ariel (I could've chosen last year's Belle, though) and saved for them to get me a Sleeping Beauty dancing with Phillip in her blue dress from the WDCC company (or some other authorized dealer). Luckily, my Sleeping Beauty camed signed by the sculptor, something that's supposed to make the figurine more valuable!!! I wonder how the other company sent it to the gallery overlooking such a detail.
