IGN.com's Wii site,
http://wii.ign.com/ has an awesome updated FAQ posted. It is an 8-page FAQ, and contains everything you would want to know about the console. It's also got photographs and other cool little things, such as a 3D render of the Wii remote.
The FAQ can be found, here:

Well, it looks like the Wii has the Japanese PS3 on the run, given Sony's just announced (and quite shocking really) price decrease for the Japanese 20GB PS3!
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=19889
I hear rumours it because the PS3 has been met with indifference in Japan, and even the small 100,000 launch shipment hadn't come close to being pre-sold.
Being as the Nintendo DS has about 60% of all game sales in Japan (yes, handheld AND console) you can understand Sony getting a little worried about the Wii!

For those of you wanting to get a Wii, check out this website:
http://www.n-sider.com/newsview.php?typ ... oryid=2440
It tells you how much everything you want will cost including tax!!!
Oh and I'm definitely getting a Wii on launch day. I'll have to see if I can find anywhere to pre-order it. It looks really awesome!

What games are everyone thinking of getting?
I'm getting Zelda and Red Steel hopefully!

I'd like more, but I'd rather have something to look forward to, and two games is more than enough including my 'ol Gamecube games.
I really want to play Wii Sports, so I'm glad they've giving it with the console.

I'll do my best to get the Wii on launch day, finances and availability willing.
My top choice for launch is Excite Truck. The Wario Ware: Smooth Moves game looks cool as well.
I will get Zelda: Twilight Princess, but I want to wait for the GameCube release and read some reviews on how both versions compare. Control is more important to me than a widescreen mode, and I'm also a softy for lefty Link.

Well, just this morning they did Pre-Orders for the Playstation 3:
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6159525.html
... so I would assume that reservations for Wii (Comes out 2 days following PS3.), should be done within the next week or two. I could be wrong of course, but that's my best guess.

Major Wii News: It's looking like Gamestop/EBGames will be taking Pre-Orders for Wii starting Friday. Keep in mind that with PS3 Pre-Orders that were also done this week, they sold out of Pre-Orders before the end of the day. Actually had people lining up before they opened at some locations. I plan to be waiting at 5 AM, DS in hand to get me a spot on the Wii list. That should be plenty sufficient I would think.
http://gonintendo.com/?p=6660 - This link has an "E-Mail" from GameStop to it's employees regarding the Pre-Orders.
http://www.thewiire.com/news/513/1/Game ... gin_Oct_13
Edit: Of course, just to be safe you should still call tomorrow to confirm.

Taken from Gamestop.com:
"A $50 reservation deposit is required, which can be funded with cash, credit or trade."
I'm going to the Mall at 5 AM tomorrow, that should get me a Pre-Order.

I can't wait for the Wii (December 8th here)
I preordered my Wii on 16 September for a £20 deposit and pre-ordered The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on Saturday

Damn, November's going to pass slowly

One day at a time ... one day at a time ...
... I've almost got everything paid off for the launch of Wii.
Wii w/ Wii Sports ($95/$270.61)
Extra Wii-Mote (Paid Off)
Legend of Zelda (Paid Off)
Trauma Center (Paid Off)
Thinking of adding an extra Nunchaku and either
Rampage or
Rayman. Depends on if I have the money.
Also ... I've found this really cool looking Golf game that comes out in early December,
Super Swing Golf. If you've ever heard of Pangya or Ablatross18 ... (Previously, I hadn't!) ... it's coming to Wii!
------
... a bit of bad news if you haven't heard, well here in the US at least:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/740/740296p1.html
Component Cables available for $29.99 ... online only. Geez Nintendo, shoot yourself in the foot much?! With a big launch title like Zelda running in Progressive Scan, why wouldn't you sell the Cables in stores?

I saw it today ... at GameStop.
Sitting there next to the entrance ... a Wii Kiosk ... it wasn't turned on, they were just getting it set up. I asked, and they said that
Excite Truck should be playable soon. They just have to wait for the Nintendo Rep to bring them the demo. So if you're like me and want to try it out ASAP, you might give your local GameStop a call ... I assume they'll be playable by the end of next week at the latest.
(Granted I don't work for GameStop, so I don't have any inside info like that ... but if all they're waiting for is the demo, hopefully it shouldn't be long.)
I don't want to wait anymore ...
In other news, I'm about $70 shy of having it paid off now. Almost there, just a little more ...
Update 11/3: Went back today to pay another $35
(Thanks Jury Duty!) ... played
Excite Truck!
... happy! I had to fork over my State ID to get the Wii-Mote, but that's cool ... I understand it's just a way to deter people from running off with the Wii-Mote.

... games are starting to show up on shelves, in advance of the system. The next 4 days are gonna go by a bit slow if I stare at this much longer.

Will the Wii still display games in Widescreen if you do not have a Widescreen TV?
Also some more Wii news. A new Wii will be coming out late next year with added DVD support.
