I think South Africa would be great, too, Disneyfreak1990, as that country has fascinated me for a long time. I'm wondering how it would be designed, though. There's usually a very recognizable building or monument to make each country quickly identified. Maybe I'm just forgetting something in South Africa.

I was also thinking that Denmark would be good because that's the home of Hans Christian Andersen who wrote the Little Mermaid story and they have the famous Little Mermaid statue in the Copenhagen Harbor. There could also be a mini Tivoli Gardens park there.
the only problem with Denmark is this, if you put the statue in Norway and get rid of the boats and you have norway :P the landmark for SA could probably be a mountain since there aren't that many landmarks in africa :( . the only ones i can really think of are the pyramids of giza, the spinx, cleopatra's needle, mt. kilomajaro, and great zimbobwe which aren't even in SA.

That's why have Kenya or Tanzania instead of South Africa.

Me?

Kenya

India

Brazil- could use the Jesus statue of Rio de Janeiro

Austrailia

I'm glad to see the support for including sub-Saharan African nations in World Showcase, and not to slight South Africa, but it'd be nice to see Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, or Kenya represented as well.

I'm also in support of Brazil, Argentina, Peru, or Jamaica being represented.

Thailand would be awesome, as would India, Russia, Greece, or Turkey.

With the African ones(which ever country it is) they can replace that small little African shop between China and Moracco.

India! That way we could have a great Indian restaurant in WDW. Yum!

In addition, it would be great if they finished the Italy pavillion and also put the Rhine River ride in Germany and the ride in Japan like they planned. :(

I didn't realize that the Italy Pavillion wasn't finished. (It's been almost 10 years since I've been to EPCOT!) What is left to do?

It would be nice to have a couple extra rides in the World Showcase, so rides in Germany and Japan would be nice!

When did they plan on puting rides for Germany and Japan?

it was before the park opened while it was under construction. they still have the building for the Germany ride but use it for storage. they never got a building built for Japan's. they need more than one or two rides in the place.
and the Caribbean would be a good one to put since it's expandable.

Yeah, they had a discussion about it over at wdwmagic.com, they even posted aerial pictures of the area showing where the rides were intended to be. There's still plenty of room... I'll try to do a search over there and see if I can find the thread, if so I will post it here.

A couple of things I recall them saying:

They said that Italy was supposed to have a ride that ended in the Collisieum, but instead there is just a big wall there.

There is some sort of large door in the German Pavillion that *would* have lead to the Rhine River ride.

I think they mentioned a ride in Japan as well.

Interesting. But if the plan was during Epcot's production, I doubt they would work on it now. I mean been 25 yrs since Epoct started.

Still it would been nice if they did finish the rides ment for Germany and Italy. Japan's won't happen as they tried to attempt it but it was disrespectful( i mean a Godzilla trill ride???)

Yeah, after 25 years it doesn't look like they'll ever complete them. Too bad because especially the Rhine River ride sounded great. I wonder if it has to do with whether the countries could finance building a ride. I know that each country has to finance being represented at EPCOT, but don't know how much of the ride would be financed by the country and how much by Disney...

i don't think the countries finance the rides cause why would Mexico want to change their ride to a three cabiero(sp) ride? what's next putting the black cauldron characters in Norway's ride?

I would be cool however it was said that it takes away from Japan's historical culture and really isn't approprite. As much as I like Godzilla I have to agree with them. That's like say making a pokemon ride in there. You know it's that ridculous.
Disneyfreak1990 wrote:but who owns Godzilla huh. not disney that's for sure.
Toho Film Company Ltd and created by Tomoyuki Tanaka. Even so that wouldn't be a factor since Disney can have other media in it's theme parks(Star Wars, Indiana Jones etc). But still it's not good place to be in the Japan section. However it would be awesome to have that in the Disney MGM/ Disney-Pixar theme park. That would be awesome.

Well Three Caberlleos was made to form realtionship with latin American countries to begin with so When the change it, I guess they had Mexico's permission to do so.

Oh and Black Cauldron is Celtic origin, not Norway's
