I looked him up on IMDB and he was also the voice of "Dr Lipschitz" on Rugats. Non disney role, but still a voice acting role.

Wow, this was the last news I was expecting to read. I had no idea that he had passed away.

I loved his voice acting.

Two of my favorite voice actors passing within a 30 day span. Eerie and they were both born in 1933.

RIP Tony Jay. I always loved him in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. His character is very haunting and that's due to the way Tony portrayed him. I will never forget that performance. I didn't know that he was the narrator of Treasure Planet, but whenever I watched Treasure Planet there was that little voice at the back of my head saying that's Shere Khan's voice, or that's Frollo's voice. We will miss him terribly.
He also provided bit voices for Lloyd in Space, Recess- School's Out, House of Mouse, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Mickey Mouse Works, The Mighty Ducks, Gargoyles, Fantasic Four, The Tick, and Darkwing Duck.
He appeared in many other non-Disney programs such as Matlock, The Golden Girls, Beauty and the Beast (1989), Twin Peaks, Murphy Brown, Dynasty, Rugrats (the series and movies), Tom and Jerry, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Scooby Doo, Thumbelina, Lois and Clark, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Superman- the animated series, Spiderman (the series), An American Tail, Hey Arnold!, Austin Powers (as the narrator), Providence, Teen Titans and the 2006 film Albert Fish.
He had a very prolific career indeed. All of the information appears coutresy of Imdb.com. RIP Tony Jay, 1933-2006 :(

Although I may not have been his biggest fan, I still respect him and his work greatly. It's always sad to see someone so talented die, especially when the death wasn't natural.
