Pixar's Cars will probably have two version Widescreen and Fullscreen...but I don't think POTC: DMC will only have Widescreen.

I really liked how Nemo and Pirates came out the same time, in fact I bought them together the same day!

I'm sure Disney will plan the dvd release so they will be big gifts for the holiday season & release it just in time for that.

"Cars" is still selling out on the weekends here in Kansas and it is still being shown on 15 screens five or six times a day. With that kind of response around the country, I would think that Disney will wait until the audiences slow down before even thinking of a DVD release. "Nemo" came to DVD six months after leaving the theaters, that being the case, then six months would place "Cars" after the first of the year, so I would look for a Spring time release. I am in no hurry for it, I want them to make this a very special release to DVD and not have three or four 'other' editions down the road, but you know they will. I think they were surprised by the acceptance of this film.

Even though
Cars is still doing very well at the Box Office, they will not wait until 2007 to release
Cars on DVD.
The Incredibles came to DVD at around four months after it was in theaters, and it was very successful at the Box Office. Disney will want to capitilize on the Holiday season, and I imagine that it will be out by the end of November.

Okay my prediction was only one day off but why is Disney releasing Pixar's Cars on a Monday.
Maybe Disney did this move because another top hit movie will be releaseon November 7
Same movie like last year with Toy Story 2 being re-release on December 24.

Wow, that's quite possibly the worst cover I've ever seen in my life!
I hope it changes!

I am not a fan of that cover either.

Maybe the November 6 is a mistake and that it's actually on the 7th. But, last year Disney pulled a similar move by releasing the SE of Toy Story 2 on Monday, although it was Boxing. As someone mentioned before they could be releasing it on Monday because another big release is coming on Tuesday the 7th, which I've heard is one of the dates Warner is looking at for their big Superman day (although I've heard it now be on October 31). If so, that means the two best films of the summer come one day after another.

Care to rethink that statement?

That artwork is Bad. It looks too much like one of those tie-in books that you buy at Target. I also hope it changes before November. This will be one of my "Definite" buys along with The Simpsons Season 8 and Superman Returns.[/b]

Regarding the cover:
If THIS is the kind of crap I'll have to compete with after I graduate, then getting a job in graphic design is gonna be a piece of cake.

I really don't like the cover. I think that Disney has gone a little koo-koo with this cover

Looks like the date is in fact on the 7th and not the 6th. Not a big fan of the cover, it's probably a fan art. Also, I've heard that this will be Disney's first day & date release with the Blu-Ray, hopefully that's true- just imagine any of the seven Pixar films on Blu-Ray.

I'm so excited for this release. I will be in line, first thing in the morning, to pick this up. I pray to God that the cover being shown is not the final cover. It would be the worst cover for a Pixar film, ever. I've liked every Pixar cover, so far. Let's all hope that this is not final!

The Rumor Mill!
A Few Words About the Rumor Mill
7/19/06
Our industry sources have checked in with some tentatively planned street dates for major 4th Qtr standard DVD releases. Here's how things stack up at the moment:
Click (10/10), Monster House (10/24), Cars (11/7), The Da Vinci Code (11/14), Superman Returns (11/28), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (12/5)
Keep in mind, all these dates are unofficial, as-yet-unannounced and are subject to change.
Stay tuned...
7/12/06
Okay... this is a very quick update, but our industry sources are telling us to expect Universal's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Curious George to street on DVD on 9/26. Also due on that day is Warner's The Lake House.
Stay tuned...
These dates look possible.

I think that everyone is being way too critical of the cover of "Cars". Why don't you submit your design to Disney to see what they think? That way if you get turned down because they have a 'better' idea, then you can't complain. Besides you don't watch the cover, you watch the disc inside. Who really cares about the art work on the cover of a DVD. I can't remember the last time I sat for an hour and a half and stared at the cover of a DVD instead of watching the movie. Can you?
If the release date in November is true, I will be first in line. I have seen "Cars" seven times, and I want to see it a bunch more.

Well, Bill the cover does look horrible even the picture of the poster at the theatre is better.
Some other pictures are better like this.
