So that is the new logo then? I was worried it would be really different. Actually then I was a little optomistic that I might be really cool and different. But I guess overall I'm glad it looks almost exactly like the old one. But Its so weird that is looks just like dreamworks. Why would they do that?

Disney you %$#@!* %$#@!*% !@# $%*# $%#@!*$ $%#@!*#!!!!!!!!!
Here's what I'd say:
It's in white
mother fucking ass hole fucking bitches!
Such terrible language. Go stand in the corner!

It's not the offical logo for the Lakers but the logo that the Lakers have on their shorts.
The logo with the L standing for Lakers but it's just the L.
I can't find a image but will post when I see one.

This is Disney's NEW logo? I'm not surprised because I have downloaded a Disney Xtreme Desktop a year ago...and this is exactly the skin...the Walt Disney logo on a starry starry night sky. I see they've updated a new one. The older one has the movies The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Chicken Little, The Shaggy Dog, Glory Road and Eight Below, now The Wild, Cars and Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest are added in the list.
Oh I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from not being surprised!

That's it???
They trying to confuse the moviegoer? By having a background similar to Dreamworks (starry and cloudy night)?
Reminds me of when Circuit City adopted their new logo, and got soap fans somewhat pissed off everywhere:
Circuit City's logo since 2003 or so:
Logo for the shortlived soap,
The City, 1995-1997:
Then again, that's a very basic design that anyone could have done, but many of us soap fans were all "
The City used it first!!!".
But with Disney and their new logo, it's nice and all, but too reminiscent of Dreamworks (at least for people who pay attention to these things, lol...)

Kinda weird if "Dead Man's Chest" got that new logo, considering the original didn't even HAVE a logo!

Just keep the theme music and I'll be fine with that. The music for the logo is so important I cannot emphasize it to much. They did say change logo so maybe the music will be kept.

Okay, okay. You can come out of the corner, now. Since you said you are sorry.
By the way, everyone, I don't believe what you all think is the new logo (with the stars and clouds) is actually the new logo. There's nothing that's actually changed about the logo, just the background. It also doesn't blow everyone away. I think we will not see the new logo until we see it on a movie.

Hehe, now we have added incentive to see Pirates II: Dead Man's Chest! To see the new logo!

Let's flashback to 1985. The first Disney feature film where it features the original Walt Disney Pictures logo was "Return to Oz". I watched the film and it was great. It has the original logo in place. "Bambi 2" was the last Disney animated direct-to-video fetaure film that it has the original Walt Disney Pictures logo at the end of closing credits. As I said before it's the end of an era.

Don't get excited - That's not the new logo - it's just the background for the page. If you read the article at the beggining of the thread, you'd realise that the background is black, and it has fireworks shimering in water below the castle.
juliancarter - It's Sleeping Bueaty Castle at Disneyland, and the Walt Disney Logotype is not going anywhere - it's one of the world's most reconised brands, and used on a lot more than just the WDS logo.

Due to the fact that it was PG-13(or at least that's what I thought...), since every other WDP film since Return to Oz has had at least SOME kind of WDP logo and POTC was the only WDP film that was PG-13... Anyway...
My point is, if they officially announced that the new logo will premiere with DMC, I will be worried. If it had a logo, than most likely it will be PG. Now I know a lot of people say "Ratings don't affect movies", but after seeing an efficient example of the Zorro syndrome (Great PG-13 original, very mediocre PG sequel, same writers), I beg to differ.
Anyway, I'm done grousing now.

Does it really matter. Disney altered the logo so much before, it was consistant, but not definitive.
Yay! Altered Studio Logos. I hope the new one gets lots of alterations!

The Animation Guild (TAG) blog, Local 839 IATSE, Steve Hulett - Business Representative:
I got a glimpse of the new logo that Mike Gabriel did for Walt Disney Pictures. It's effing great. I think it will blow people away. I'm told it makes its debut at the front of "Pirates of the Caribbean 2" in early July.

As long as they keep Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle, I will be happy.

Whether you're masking it in white text or not, can we please not use profane language here? Of all the things that could get a person to spout such venom, I'm flabbergasted that a new studio logo is behind the needless vulgarity.

To me the new logo sounds cool! it's like the new paramount logo where the stars are shooting down the sky into the clouds and then they circle around the paramount mountain. that was really cool! The new Disney logo sounds really cool and i can't wait to see it! I can understand the sentimental value of the old logo since I group up in the era where that logo was created, it's hard to see it go but change is sometimes good and Disney as a company needs to keep evolving and trying new things. if they did the same thing over and over we would most likely get bored with it! so go on with the new logo!
