It seems they used a pic from the "Chipmonks" days and not a "Rescue Rangers" pic... I hate that...

The Slim covers for CaD does not match either... the first one is airbrushed nicely but the last two are in traditional flat 2D... it looks stupid... I hope thay will change the pictures on CaD Rescue Rangers before the release... The Vol. 1 cover was so good!

I am really happy. Now that all of these older TV series are making there way to DVD, some of the ones I actually watched when I was a kid can find their way to DVD. Jungle Cubs, Bonkers, Marsupilami, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin are some of the ones I watched when I was like four, when I got older I watched Teachers Pet, Recess,The Weekenders, Lloyd In Space and Buzz Lightyear, and nowadays I watch new stuff like Kim Possible, Emperors New School, Lilo and Stitch, Brandy and Mr Whiskers, and The Proud Family. I'm not old enough to have watched Chip and Dale, DuckTales or Gummi Bears, but I do have one episode of DuckTales on tape for some reason (Magica's Magic Mirror), and I will always love Winnie the Pooh. WTP was only repeating here in Australia, so it was easy for my mum to tape pratically all of the episodes for me, my twin brother, and my older sister to watch whenever we were acting crazy. Okay, enough of my childhood.
Even though I never really watched the shows, I am extremely happy with their treatment on DVD. The bonus pilot episodes excite me, and the cover art is really nice. The slim cases are nicely decorated as well. The Gummi Bears one is better, because it's all of the first three seasons in one go, so if it doesn't sell well enough, then all of the fans can have the entire first half of the series on DVD anyway. I'm also glad that Disney is continuing releasing these titles to DVD, because when they were first announced last year I didn't think that they would be released again, through season installments. I guess that the whole Lizzie McGuire thing got my hopes down for everything. But now I'm glad that they sold well, becuase now there is renewed faith in me in Disney releasing TV animation. I'm hoping that Disney releases new DVD sets of Talespin and Darkwing Duck next year, and I hope that bigger DVD sets are released for Quack Pack and Goof Troop than were released in February. I hope that Gragoyles in fully released to DVD as well. Hooray for Disney! Thanks Disney!

I'm not sure what I think of the DuckTales cover, but both Chip and Dale look terrible.
But hooray for getting the pilot episodes! It doesn't make any sense to have them on Volume 2, but at least we're getting them!

Uh-oh, I'm getting kinda scared that they're going to use that same image of Louie for every volume. That'll suck if Disney gives all of the other characters new poses and sentences Louie to guarding the top left corner of the box for four more volumes.
But anyway, I like the
DuckTales cover. It could be better, but it's not bad.
Just for the record, for everyone complaining that Chip and Dale are naked, they're really not. Since Chip and Dale are in their respective detective/vacation outfits in the logo, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Am I the only one that actually likes the volume 2 cover? In fact, I kinda think the image of the outfit-less chipmunks connects
Rescue Rangers to the old Chip 'n Dale shorts.

Back when Vol. 1 of DuckTales was being released, I was trying to figure out the episode selection for reach volume. Now that the 5 part pilot is on volume 2, I'm wrong, but here is what I had thought back in October:
DuckTales list by which the DVD will be going:
VOLUME 1
1. Send in the Clones
2. Sphinx for the Memories
3. Where No Duck Has Gone Before
4. Armstrong
5. Robot Robbers
6. Magica's Shadow War

I bet they will release the mini-series on one set or for each one? Anyone agree with me on all this?
----
I wonder if episodes 36-39 (a 4-part episode) will be on volume 2?

Two words: They're being released by Disney, a company that makes illogical decisions and is only consistant with being inconsistant.

Actually the pilot episodes are coming on volume 2 because Disney is going in production order. So it is right. As for Darkwing and TaleSpin, I guess Disney is going to please the fans by including them in the first volume because they too were not made first in production order.
While I'm at it, I'll try Chip 'n Dale Vol. 2, which like DuckTales is going in production order...
Volume 1:
1 Catteries Not Included
2 Three Men and a Booby
3 The Carpetsnaggers
4 Piratsy Under the Sea
5 Adventures in Squirrelsitting
6 Flash the Wonder Dog
7 The Pound of the Baskervilles
8 Parental Discretion Retired
9 Riskey Beesness
10 Bearing Up Baby
11 Out to Launch
12 Dale Beside Himself
13 Kiwis Big Adventure
14 A Lad in the Lamp
15 Battle of the Bulge
17 Ghost of a Chance
18 An Elephant Never Suspects
19 A Case of Stageblight
20 The Luck Stops Here
21 Fake Me to Your Leader
22 Last Train to Cashville
23 The Case of the Cola Cult
24 Throw Mummy from the Train
25 A Wolf in Cheap Clothing
26 Prehysterical Pet
27 Robocat
28 Does Pavlov Ring a Bell?
(Note Normie's Science Project should be on this set as #16, but it isn't)
My predictions for Vol. 2:
16 Normie's Science Project
29 A Creep in the Deep
30 Seer No Evil
31 Chocolate Chips
32 The S.S. Drainpipe
33 Chipwrecked Shipmunks
34 The Last Leprechaun
35 Doubl 'O' Chipmunks
36 Song of the Night 'N' Dale
37 Love is a Many Splintered Thing
38 Weather Or Not
39 Out of Scale
40 Gadget Goes Hawaiian
41 To the Rescue p. 1
42 To the Rescue p. 2
43 To the Rescue p. 3
44 To the Rescue p. 4
45 To the Rescue p. 5
46 Good Times, Bat Times
47 Short Order Cooks
48 When Mice Were Men
49 It's a Bid, It's Insane, It's Dale
50 They Shoot Dogs, Don't They?
51 One-Upman-Chip
Volume 3:
52 Zipper Come Home
53 Shell Shocked
54 Puffed Rangers
55 A Fly in the Ointment
56 Dirty Rotten Diapers
57 Mind Your Own Cheese & Q's
58 Pie in the Sky
59 A Chorus Crime
60 Le Purrfect Crime
61 When You Fish Upon a Star
62 A Lean On the Property
63 Rest Home Rangers
64 The Pied Piper Power Play
65 Gorilla My Dreams

Thats not production order - Production order sees all of the Bubba Episodes and the Golden Goose before the Fenton eps - thats why they never appear in the same episode together.
As for the DVD, it's on Vol 2. because Disney realised their original plans of selling it as a seperate DVD wernt going to go down well, and many people would not buy Vol 2. without them.

No, the production order is how the show was made not how it is on TV. How do I know the DVDs are going in production order? Just look at the order for Vol. 1 and compare them to the production #'s.
Look at the production order number for each episode here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DuckTales_episodes
Notice the 5-part pilot is actually episodes 37-41. So it makes sense having them on the volume 2 DVD. Same goes for Chip 'n Dale.
As for Darkwing and TaleSpin, they are including the pilots of each on volume one just so fans don't ask why the pilots weren't included because the pilots of those series were also produced much later.
Actual production number for these 4 pilots:
DuckTales Pilot: episodes 37-41
Chip 'n Dale Pilot: episodes 41-45
TaleSpin Pilot: episodes 29-32
Darkwing Duck Pilot: episodes 52 and 53
