A year ago I read somewhere in the net that there is a rumor of a 2nd Hercules coming. It was called "Hercules II: The Trojan War" and the story was about Herc and Meg living in Athens with their daughter Hebe, when suddenly Herc has to join the Trojan War, because an evil guy named Paris has kidnapped the beautiful Helen of Troy. Maybe a release of a second movie would bring up a Hercules Special Edition, but this is just a rumor.

I think that "Hercules II: The Trojan War" was shot down and was never really accepted into being a new project. It does sound like a good idea, however.

I enjoy these movies and they do deserve 2 disc sets. Hunchback is one of the most underated movies of all time.

Why is Hunchback so underated? It's one of the most powerful Disney films I've ever seen. Probably because it wasn't very "kiddish"

well most people don't realize how powerful it is thus it is underated.

Just randomly checking DisneyVideos.com, and noticed that "Hercules" was missing in the list of Animated Classics. Usually this means that another edition of the movie is going to be released. "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is still on the list, so I guess there isn't any hope for another DVD release.

I'm sure BOTH will see an updated release sometime, most likely 2-disc treatement too if a film like The Aristocats can be given such. Hercules would be GREAT for this summer as a 2-disc 10th Anniversary Edition. I would almost be surprised if it DIDN'T get rereleased this summer - it's the perfect time and the original release isn't very great, PLUS Hercules is a huge fan favorite and MANY people have been wanting to see an updated DVD version. As for Hunchback, it seems to be a favorite with UD members (including myself) but it wasn't one of Disney's most successful films and that might be what is hindering its rerelease. I'm sure someday though both of these films will get new and glorious updates compared to their Gold Collection releases, and I would expect Hercules before Hunchback, but you NEVER know with Disney.

I wish Hercules would get a 10th Anniversy Two Disc dvd, I would LOVE to see a making of feature, character designs, voice actors, musical features. Ugh! This could be such a good dvd, why isn't it being made?

I love the Zero to Hero part, such wonderful animation. I just love the muses, they are sooo alive, it's really neat!

YEA! we should make a petition. even though I dont think it ever works it would still be fun. but just to let eveyone know...Hercules made 99,112,101 dollars in its theatrical run while hunchback made 100,138,851. so I dont know why you think herc. is more popular. Hunchback even made more over seas as well. Im not defending hunchback im just saying they were about the same.

I hope so bad that Disney releases 10th Anniversary for Hercules this year. It is one of my favorite movies ever. I know it's not considered as good as many of the other Disney films, but for some reason this movie to me was so brilliant. I have worn my VHS completely out, but I do own the DVD.

I would be so happy with a super 2-disc set for Hercules!! Does anybody remember the "Hercules Strikes Manhattan" Electrical Parade? I taped that off the Disney Channel when it aired and still watch it. That would be an AWESOME bonus feature! PLEASE DISNEY!!

if it's anything to go by, Hercules has been taken off the Animated Classics list on disney so a new release might be soon :)

Yes, this looks like good news. I know Robin Hood, Pooh, and Aristocats for sure had the same thing happen to them before their new editions were released.

Hopefully, we hear news from Disney soon!

I thought it was way too kiddish. The fact that many scenes had the characters running around and screaming and doing bad slapstick gags and causing a commotion where they could, took away much of the power of more subtle and dramatic scenes with Quasimodo, Esmeralda and Frollo.

Pocahontas handeled this issue much better IMO, with the comedy reserved mostly for the animal characters, who were allowed to be quite realistic at times and didn't affect the story too much. Pocahontas remains my favorite "new" (read: past-Walt) Disney film.

Chillax, son. He means the company no longer lists it as a title in print. This sometimes means that it's no longer being produced to make way for a new edition.
