Will that feature answer the age-old question "Where do merbabies come from?" :P

That's easy they come from the eggs of their mother.
Like anyother sea creature it's the eggs.

Actually, I don't thnk it will take months for a revised PR to come out. I mean, I sure hope it doesn't take that long. I was thinking it would only take a few weeks.

*Imagines Ariel's mother laying an egg and Ariel hatching from it*

*Shudders*

I kinda pictured Ariel being born in a more........graceful.........way.

No matter what is eventually on it, we all know that we will buy it. (unless you buy for the bonus Features). Yes it's nice when they include good extras, but really, we buy it for the movie anyway.

I have the VHS but I haven't watched it in quite a long time, at least a couple years actually. I'm holding off to watch it again on the PE so it feels like I'm watching it for the first time again with all the improved sound and picture quality. I can't wait till October! :ariel:

*Imagines King Triton and Ariel's mother pressing their hands together*

*A flash!*

*Suddenly, an egg falls into the sea, and hatches as soon as it comes to Triton and Ariel's mother*

*It's baby Ariel!*

cabaret-style tune delivered by Ursula following Ariel’s transformation from mermaid tail to legs
...PLEASE tell me that they didn't just get a song title wrong in their own press release about their own film. Now THAT is unfortunate.
I spy with my little eye two mistakes in that sentence! If my memory serves me correctly, "Poor Unfortunate Souls" precedes Ariel's transformation. It does no following whatsoever. Sheesh!

...maybe they're trying to say "Hey, the INSTRUMENTALS of the song don't end until after she's transformed!"...nah, they're just not bothering to get the information in this press release RIGHT, let alone DVD-specific. Did the people who wrote this actually WATCH The Little Mermaid in the last year? *sigh*

Hey, maybe they're making mistakes on purpose because they want to make us feel smart. Maybe they think that if they can make us feel more intelligent than them, we'll buy more of their products.

That's Disney, always boosting our self-esteem! :thumb:

I don't think it's such a big mistake. They were just in a hurry. It would be more tragic if they said "Poor Miserable Souls" or something. Just a word...

I'm thinking in the Merpeople world, they do it seahorse style: male pregnancy! nah just kidding... that would explain the mysterious absense of Ariel's mother though.... where is she?

my money's on the fact that Ursula ate her
(no scraps for poor Flotsam and Jetsom!)

sounnd like the makings of a DTV prequel! :|

What an interesting discussion we have going on here! So, Ursula ate Triton's wife and then Triton asexually gave birth to Ariel?

....

Works for me. Maybe that "Little Mermaid Reflections" DTV will have Ariel "reflecting" on her past and we can get some confirmation of this!

But I agree with Aladdin From Agrabah, Disney was probably just in a hurry when they skipped a word for the song title. Here's hoping they fix it when the revised PR comes out.

Yeah, every DVD release this year that has had colorful disc art has had this reflective not fully colored type labeling. Not nice and purty like the old artwork, but certainly not bad looking.

The last movie I bought was Cinderella and this movie was released last year so I don't know what you mean with that thing of the disc art, can someone explain me this because I don't understand.

The Little Mermaid Beautiful Boxed Collection

I sincerly hope they produce a beautiful box set for The Little Mermaid
similar to the boxes for Snow White, The Lion King, Aladdin & Cinderella.

Pretty much we know what'll be in the box set so at least there's no anticipation about that. There'll be 5 or 6 sketch drawings, a re-produced film frame, and a book about the movie.

Well, that press release was certainly useless. I mean, Disney didn't even post up a high-res version of the PE cover. At least we know by the movie's running time that none of the cut songs will be reanimated and inserted back in the film -- that's a huge relief. A healthy bit rate allocated for only one version of the film...

I hope they have two commentaries for TLM, just like for Aladdin. And I hope they include all the trailers, not just the one from 1989, but the 1997 re-release trailer and all the TV spots. ;)
