Peter Pan's overture is wonderful too, and I also really dig BATB's score. I can't understand the lack of TLK score on CD.

Fantasia has an amazing score which I guess makes sense, b/c look at all of the composers of the scores. Bambi is probably the best original score by Disney that I can think of, it's just amazing. Aaron, we'll have to watch sleeping beauty soon, because I haven't seen it in such a long time, and then I'll let you know if I think it has the best score.

My absolute favorite score from a Disney movie is "Finding Nemo." I love that score. I also love the score from "Atlantis: The Lost Empire." Say what you will about the actual movie, but the score is fantastic. While I don't much care for the movie "Dinosaur," I also am in love with the music from it. "Tuck Everlasting" and the remake of "The Parent Trap" also have great scores. Of course, "Pirates of the Caribbean" is up there too. But "Finding Nemo" deffinatley has my favorite score in a Disney movie (Yes. I know it's Pixar and that Disney didn't make it, but since Nemo characters and merchandise are all over the place at Disney World, I'm counting it."

Yes, I should have included that in my post too. As for live-action scores, I also like Mary Poppins, Pete's Dragon, and Bedknobs & Broomsticks' scores (of course).

It's very hard to choose between certain Disney scores, but I might consider Bambi as the best Disney score. The memorable themes, the magnificent choir, the clever uses of instruments and the overall feel make it a remarkable score. And as bambifan56 said, the choral finale of Bambi is very epic and emotional and in my opinion it's easily one of the best finales ever in Disney animated classics.

The scores of The Lion King and The Hunchback of Notre Dame come quite close too. From the haunting "This Land" to the epic "To Die For" TLK score shows its might (it's a shame the official release doesn't have more score tracks, because some good ones are missing and some of the tracks are edited), and tracks such as the awesome "Sanctuary!" truly show the epic scope of HOND score.

Of course many other Disney movies have marvellous scores too (such as Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and Atlantis to name a few), or at least some scores have individual stand-out score tracks. I really enjoy listening to the scores of Disney movies, and they bring so much more emotion to the movies themselves with the songs so that they too are part of that famous "Disney magic".

HAHA yes KOSSAGE! Someone finally agrees with me on Bambi's amazing final shot. The choir singing "Love is a Song" and showing Geno and Gurri and then Bambi on the hill. No matter how many times I've seen it, it still has the same emotional impact on me. haha that made my day.

To me, James Horner's soundtrack for "The Rocketeer" is great. It was used for other movies' trailers in the past, including, I think, "Treasure Planet."

"Mary Poppins" is quite entertaining -- I love it!

And John Barry's score for "The Black Hole" is one I enjoy, too. I don't think it's ever been released -- officially -- on CD. You can find it combined with "Howard the Duck," but I wonder about the authenticity. I purchased the LP of TBH off of eBay.

Another soundtrack I'm enthusiastic about is the latest one I've purchased: "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," by Harry Gregson-Williams. Oh yeah!!!

Regarding the animated fare of Walt Disney, I don't know some of them well enough (I haven't purchased "Bambi" or "Alice in Wonderland" at this time.), so I'm going from memory.

I like the music from "Peter Pan" and "Cinderella." "Alice" is enjoyable, as are "Monsters, Inc.," "The Incredibles," and "The Little Mermaid."

"The other day, I was watching some shorts found on the WD Treasure 'On the Front Lines.' In viewing "Planning for Good Eathing," I recognized the background music was from the Bambi soundtrack!
