azul017 wrote:As for the menus differing between single- and double-disc editions, they don't vary that much. I saw the main menu for the CATCF DE, and it was the exact same as the single-disc main menu, except it had "Theatrical Trailer" in place of "Special Features".
I think they will do that for HP with the commentary button maybe.

azul017 wrote:I saw the trailer for the DVD release of GOF and I did note that the trailer did mention "Film Maker's Commentary", but Warner can be deceiving about that. (Hopefully Warner will let David Yates record a commentary for OOTP, because he did do one for the The Girl In the Cafe DVD.)
More false advertisement! First Tarzan, now this. I wonder what Mike Newell must think of Warner Bros now. Can't they trust the filmakers to put what they want to on the dvd of the movie they made? Peter Jackson got his chance, and I think Pixar got to too! :(

There's an official review of Goblet on DVD Movie Guide - no mention of a commentary whatsoever (meaning Newell's commentary will be saved for a double-dip, no less). :x

However, the amount of extras do lead up to nearly 2 hours worth of bonus footage - not counting the actual games. At least technically the movie will look and sound great on DVD. 8)

I have a question: I'm going to the US this sunday, and I will be coming back on March 7th (I live in Brazil) in the morning (something like 9:00 AM). The thing is, I'm a Potter fan, and I want to buy the 2-Disc dvd... do you guys know if any store (like K-Mart, Walmart, something like that) will start selling them at midnight? :?:

Wal-Mart Supercenters probably will.

Oh, and here's a piece of news that will definitely please people awaiting the two-disc edition. According to John Puccio from DVD Town, disc one opens up with the WB logo, then segues into the main menu (Hedwig flies into the main hall, where you can choose from three options: "Play Movie", "Scene Selections" and "Languages"). The previews are moved to the bonus disc instead, but they are skippable.

Oh, and WB apparently put the theatrical teaser of GOF on the second disc rather than the theatrical trailer that came out September 2005 (I did like the teaser better than the full-blown trailer, however).

The teaser is that one that makes it looks like a memorial to them, right? Where it shows a shot of them in each movie, almost as a tribute if they had died?

Haha, yup that one.

I'm over it. I'll get it next week but I won't open it. I'm waiting on news of the High Definition releasing on April 11th and any news regarding a deluxe edition.

What's the difference between the 2-disc and the single disc version? I'm thinking about getting my cousin the 2-disc version even though I'll have to spend more (I'm a college student,I've become stingy when it comes to money)

The two-disc has all of the bonus features while the one-disc only has the movie.

That's not right. The single disc does have some extras:

The single-disc will include a director audio commentary, ten deleted scenes, and some trailers. The two-disc special edition will include all of that, along with three extended music videos, a Passion of MIB featurette and a Walk The Line Comeback featurette.

Based on Fox's recent excellent 2 disc sets, I would suggest the "featurettes" on the second disc will be more than insubstantial fluff, but that's just speculation at this point.

I'll just get me coat.

Shoot, sounds like the 2-disc will be better for my cousin. She likes seeing how special effects were made and the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Yeah, set to John Williams's "Finale" from POA. I actually think it was showing how the three main characters grow up during the course of the first four movies and how they've matured (although your opinion is certainly valid in this case). I don't suppose the teaser for OOTP will be like the GOF teaser, it will probably be cut like the teasers for the first three movies.

I liked that teaser, the music was set to the "memorial" perfectly, especially when you see Hermione from GOF (the music beat is in perfect sinc with her stepping down). I really thought that they should have had both trailers (as with P/SS and CoS DVD). I was mad when they put the first two movie trailers on the PoA DVD, but not the wonderful PoA teaser trailer (that is my fav teaser trailer).

Come one, people....

Do you honestly think that WB isn't gonna touch the HP films after all seven are made???
They are, without a doubt, gonna re-release them with more bonus features once all the movies are out. HP is too big of a phenomenon to pass up that oppertunity.

Can somebody say "Deluxe Collector's Boxed Set"?
