Either way the singing voice wasn't very good, IMO. Sounded forced and fake.

Anyways, a week or two ago I was watching this Lifetime movie, Miracle Run...lo and behold, Zac (Troy) was in the movie. It was rather interesting, about a mother raising her autistic twins.

It is him, but he isn't singing in the movie. Zac and the rest of the cast first recorded the songs in a recording session then they lip sink (sp?) in the movie.

Lip-synch :)

Checked imdb for the cast:

Zac Efron .... Troy Bolton
Andrew Seeley .... Troy (Voice)

Hmm, turns out Seeley also wrote the asinine song "Getcha Head in the Game". Now I know who to send the death threat to. :P

ETA:

Lordy, there's gonna be a sequel next year, January 19, 2007 to be exact.

Apparently it's announced in TV Guide and Zac and Ashley and the director already signed on for it. And apparently HSM is gonna be a trilogy, so there will likely be a third in 2008.

Wasn't one enough? Oh well, so long as they have the scene-stealing brother of Sharpay in it...

A trilogy? The ending was a happily ever after, I don't know how much happier they can get or what problems they can run into if they're "all in this together" and their school is one big happy family (which happens in NONE of the high schools across the globe).

Looking back on it, this movie is too FAKE. Troy and Gabriella are perfect, they're hot, smart, athletic, and they can sing.

I saw it Monday night, and I thought it was good, with the exception of the beggining. I mean, they're singing a song on Keriokee that they've never heard before and they're singing it perfectly? Give me a break! But, other than that, I thought the song Sharpay (yea, the weird name) and Ryan sang at auditions was good. It's easily better than most DCOMs (But not all). I'll probably buy it if it comes to DVD.

I have seen High School Musical Twice since it aired. I really liked it. Many of the songs were catchy and i even bought some songs  I really think that this is the best DCOM since 2001. I was really surprised that they did this and I think it could have been released to theaters.

As for a sequel I really cant see them making two more. Cause like someone said above in the end they were all in this together so I cant see two more stories. Probblay I think in the movie they sophmores so the 07movie they will be juniors and in the 08movie they will be seniors so they will probblay have a story to it.

Also The first one didnt show the play so that would probblay be in the second.

I've seen this movie with my nieces and nephews several times, and really enjoyed it, especially since they were jumping around and singing along. They can't get enough of it! I was browsing itunes for other stuff and discovered that Access Hollywood has a podcast with behind the scenes and interviews. I downloaded to my Ipod and showed it to them (it's free!). They were so happy. The easiest way to find it is on the access hllywood web page and then linking to their podcast. Cheers.

Hmmmmmm....

The only things that bothered me about this movie was the whole clique thing. It might just be my high school, but there wasn't THAT much animosity between the groups. There were a lot of smart people in the Musical and some "jocks" were in the chorus...ok rather some chorus people played sports. There were some skater/punk kids in the Orchestra (playing cello, too! lol). I think with all the "individuality" stuff thrown at us throughout our school years, by the time we got to high school cliques weren't a huge problem.

Also...The writer for Gabriella's solo song needs to go back to music school. The poetry of the lyrics didn't work out so that she had to stress the wrong syllables to fit with the music. IMO, that's what made that song terrible. Her singing is fine, its just the song that didn't quite work. Also, what teenager has that big of a bedroom???? (besides the evil girl in Mean Girls)

Another thing...the Spanish dialogue before Bop to the Top for Sharpay in their call back audition sounded totally fake! It hardly sounded like her at all! But that's my favorite song though, hehehe.

Another thing about HSM...I'm just shocked at how big it got and how popular it become. WIth all the iTunes downloads and billboard charts or whatever and all this response, to hearing kids singing the songs or watching the movie online (yes, we went to a retirement party and the kids there were on the computer, alas not playing video games or neopets, but watching HSM). I'm in a way glad for that since kids are exposed to so much crap on television on the media, and HSM is better for them than the other trash on tv. Maybe more guys will try out for their high school musicals and the company won't be filled with girls. Our production of R&H Cinderella had mostly girls, so girls were waltzing with girls at the ball, lol.

Oh and...What kind of name is Sharpay???

LOL. I agree, there is alot of trash on television these days. I was also really surprised with the huge positive response that HSM has gotten. I saw this and I have the soundtrack and I really enjoyed it. I think that it is like the best Disney Channel movie I've ever seen. It's def. gotten the most response.

Hey!

For those interested, if you go to disneychannel.com, there's a link somewhere on the page to get info on getting it licensed for your school.

I'm going to try it....

And then I'll try OUT.

:D

or

I know, I started mumbling in the second clip. Dunno why. I think I was too used to singing to myself.

I actually really enjoyed the DCOM movie. I do feel that over time the DCOM movies have gotten better and better. I mean sure there are some holes in the move, but nothing is ever flawless and not eveyone will always be happy with final product. But me I think the chracters were well developed even if the whole clique idea is lame. The movie kept my intrest the whole time. And songs even if some were lame are very catchy I enjoyed them so much I recently bought the soundtrack. And I do plan on buying the movie when it comes out. Though most may not feel the same as me. I give the movie 2   :)

Well I got to see the dance along version on Friday and I was surprised that I REALLY DID like it! I don't know how long it will take me to buy the DVD thou since I DVD-R'ed it. One thing did anyone not really realize that Ryan and Sharpay were siblings? Perhaps the first time around I was not paying enough attention but I just wondered if I was the only one. And has anyone heard about the second and third ones are about? I hope that they do it like #1.Casting #2.Rehleales #3.The Show/Backstage.

This is my all time favorite DCOM. Well actually, after The Color of Friendship, that is my all time favorite DCOM. I am defenitly going to pick up HSM at Target on Tuesday. At Target there is a mini yearbook that goes with the movie. But I have to be quick about getting it because there is a limited supply, and no rain checks. 2 days seem so long. I want HSM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if the yearbook is worth it. Best Buy has a 2 for $20 (DVD + Soundtrack) while Circuit City will have a $5 Gift Card when you buy both as well so you technically pay $19 there.

Yes, but I already have the CD. So why would I get the special edition soundtrack? Even if there are some ringtones/poster/new insturmentals/B5 music video? I love the CD that I have, and don't feel that I need to upgrade. I'd much rather have the mini yearbook, than getting a $5 gift card from Circuit City, because I would have to buy the special edition soundtrack. And the mini yearbook/movie at Target is only $16!

Oh yeah, I took the quiz and somehow got Sharpay twice, and Troy once. I don't know how in the world I got Sharpay, but I'm satisfied with being most like Troy, I guess :D
