I've never been to Canada or Mexico either!

I've never jumped into a chalk painting.

I've never seen "The Passion of the Christ", despite being a strong Christian.

I've never been to a premiere!

I've never gotten drunk before(but I have tried a few sips of alcohol beverages before though)

I've never...

been to Disneyland
bought a DVD purely because it has a slipcover
Journeyed to the Southern Hemisphere
broken a bone
enjoyed anything with Chris Rock in it
watched Desperate Housewives
Besmerched Home on the Range
had the delight of enduring the potentially odious catterwalling of Amy Grant (prepares to duck and cover ;))
stalked Megan Mullally
put a tarantula in my mouth
gone shopping wearing a tutu
grated a weasel on my cornflakes
used a toothbrush as a device for world domination

I'd really better get started on crossing some of these off! ;)

Regardless of what everybody thinks, I don't do this to start anything. I do it because I have a conscience. Something I haven't asked dvdjunkie if he has yet...
dvdjunkie wrote:I have never liked "left-wing bomb-throwers" (Lazario are you paying attention)
You know the funny thing? I'm the only person paying attention. The whole nature of being a Republican is to cut yourself off from others. Decide what's best for themselves and to hell with everyone else. Another funny thing? Nations don't work like that. Yet, the history of segregation? Conservatives ran that little scam by over a 3/4th's margin. Who are the biggest supporters of our constitutional rights? Liberals. Who supports sending troops over to fight unimportant wars? Nixon, Bush, and Bush 2. Writing any of this down? Who supports giving tax breaks to the billionaires of business-industries while expecting the middle class to make up the difference? Guess who - Republicans. Who supports the Church and religious leaders to put in bids to change and make laws based on unconfirmed words of God and people who it can't be proved exist - Conservatives, with the full governmental support of the Republicans, who are currently working their darnedest to change the abortion laws in this country. Clinton had his photograph taken with Melissa Etheridge and her partner, while the first half year of his time in office Bush (W) eliminated the nationally recognized Gay-Pride month. And who spent over ONE AND A HALF BILLION DOLLARS of the national budget just to PLAY with our fundamental freedoms by messing with the legal definition of marriage? Dubya. Or DUMBYA, which is a lot more accurate. A funny thing's happening over in Iraq right now. Now that the U.S. has gone in, the new "leadership" is forcing the Iraqi government to deny rights to women! Taxi drivers are now being required by law to deny women as customers. I guess the married ones will have to ask their husbands for a ride to work and the single ones will have to wing it. Most TV stations in Iraq are not even allowing women to be shown on the air. And what side are those leaders? Conservative.

You're calling me a bomb thrower? Excuse me, but who's doing the most damage?

Here's a very true-to-life scenario : you're attacked and fall down in the street. You need medical attention. You at least need someone to call the police for you. A liberal/democrat would help you out because they care. A conservative would only help you out to make themselves look good and the republican... will just steal your wallet and leave you where you lay.

God, I feel like we're starting with basics here (perhaps the only thing to appeal to the real intelligence of people, which is in generally short supply these days). The Republican movement is just all about fear that someone getting something will take something from them. Just because under special circumstances, certain people need more rights, it doesn't mean white heterosexual American-born males are going to lose a damn thing. And excuse me, but when did it become an excuse to ignore the progressive in favor of what makes certain people comfortable? Bill O'Reilly says he's looking out for... who? The rich, white, American-born minority of Americans who fear the progressive. He's just pulling the wool over the eyes of the ignorant. GOD- voting Republican isn't a macho thing to do or the right thing to do (which is perfectly ironic, considering what the words "right" and "left" are typically associated with!) to vote Republican. It's the sad, desperate, and weak thing to do.

I have never understood the ability of an innocent thread to turn into a political fight :D

Then again, we seem to have a lot of frustrated virgins on this board...

I'm sure there are many things I have never done, including:

- I have never stuck two golf balls up my nose
- I have never danced with the devil in the pale moon light
- I have never used thumb tacks for piercings
AwallaceUNC wrote:I've never written a DVD review that's interested all that many people.

YO! You be dissin' somethin' you ain't never heard? That's just whack, dawg!

See this is where alcohol comes in handy...

Oh, where was I:

- I have never been able to write on a forum in a linear fashion

On a more serious note, things I have never done I would probably like to do:
- I have never been to Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Tokyo or Disneyland Hong Kong
- I have never been to Europe!
- I have never tried mind-altering substances (would like to do this while writing one day)
- I have never learned to play a musical instrument

Other things I've never done:
- I have never been hungover. Doesn't matter how much I drink.
- I have never seen an episode of Big Brother, Survivor or any reality show all the way through

and finally:
- I have never EVER EVER owned a mobile phone.

In a way, neither have I. It's just a matter of - is there a better place to do it? Every time I try to start a topic discussing people's rights and things, other people here think it some kind of negative thing and thus, hurl negative feedback towards it. I guess it just goes to prove my point: that most people don't care about others or the dangers we face as a society, ignorance, injustice. I GUESS if you don't want to hear it, you don't have to reply. But I'm always fair to those who are fair to me.

Now back to my pov - here's another thought: so you don't care about civil rights. That's fine, I don't care about the plight of the people who fear for instance that human breeding will look bad because of this, that, and the other thing. So you vote for a Republican because you think they handle money better than Democrats. Well, then you should also be anti-Bush and Republicans. Especially with the shape of things now. This is one of the, if not the, largest budget deficits we've ever experienced as a nation (sorry for all those who don't live in the U.S.) - 17 trillion dollars. Just more proof that Republicans don't know what they're doing. When Democrats are trying to get elected, they have people to worry about their popularity for them. While they focus on exactly what they'll do about finances and spending before they get elected. The Republicans just put all their energy into GETTING elected and partying it up, and their image with "their kinds of Americans". A noteworthy strategy ploy for sure. But not so good for the future of the nation. They only consider the people who have the most money to help with their campaigns, and serving those people's conservative / moral / religious agenda once in office. Either way you worry, civil rights or your own financial livelihood, Republicans do not do for the good of the nation. They are as corrupt and just plain wrong as any organization on the planet. Including terrorists and the mafia.

Okay, I'm entering into a dangerous zone by replying into this thread. All I'm going to say on the slight debate is that I think Bush is incompotent and shouldn't really be the leader of such a powerful nation and I look at his supporters and feel disappointed in them for this, as I think they're just being a bit naive and ultimately daft. And I'm not siding with either side (well, to an extent, as I try to think liberally as much as possible); I am sure that there are incompotent and annoying people on both sides of the political spectrum.

Anyway, onto the actual point of the topic:

*I have never snowboarded.
*I have never been to Asia, Australasia, the Poles or South America.
*I have never smoked.
*I have never taken illegal drugs.
*I have never seen a full episode of Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Doctor Who or I Dream of Jeanie.
*I have never been to any of the Disney theme parks/resorts in Tokyo, California or Hong Kong.
*I have never seen every feature film with animation in it from Disney in their entirety.
*I have never seen Old Yeller, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Love Bug or any Herbie sequel in its entirety.
*I have never seen an 18 film in a cinema.
*I have never seen a professional stage production of an Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical.
*I have never read a Tolkein novel properly.
*I have never created a DTV/Siren style music video.
*I have never been to a non-Christian religious gathering.
*I have never seen How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original Chuck Jones special) in its entirety.
*I have never bunjee-jumped.
*I have never owned a big pet like a cat, dog or rabbit (though I once owned some fish, and erm...a fly :shifty:)
*I have never been arrested.
*I have never streaked.
*I have never read a novel in a foreign language all the way through.
*I have never been to Scotland (surprising considering it's only a two or three hour drive away), the Isles of Man or White, any of the Channel, Falkland or Shetland Islands, Bristol or the West Country.
*I have never been anywhere West past Toronto in North America.
*I have never been to Eastern Europe.

And now for a few more to add to my list that I've seen around here:

I've never fired a gun, though I've held several.
I've never disliked an Amy Grant song (but there are a few that I'm not as crazy about)
I've never seen a professional stage production (outside of those at Disney World, which aren't really the same thing)
I've never seen any Herbie movie or any Studio Ghibli film
Oh, and okay, I've never voted for a Democrat, but then, I've only voted in one election. It's not like I've completely ruled it out.

Well, maybe I'm generalising a bit and being a little too mean. I obviously think that there are far worse things that you can do, and I think any sane person can admit that, love or hate him, Bush is not an evil person in the leagues of Bin Laden, Hitler etc. And, I think that people can easily redeem themselves in other ways. Nobody is perfect, and they can still be a nice person despite making odd blunders.

EDIT: However, an agreerer of that Ann Coulter is another thing...

You think I took a shot at you? You have a strange idea of what that sort of thing is. When you're assuming people are insulting you, do they usually in your estimation go about doing it like so : if I was you I might feel stupid right now? Here's an analogy that I think fits this occasion: this isn't a sheep farm, I can say "wolf."
