Home Alone 1 is just a classic! Everyone knows that film and what happens in it! That can't be said for the rest! The original is by far the best!

I vote for Home Alone (the first part) because I love it more than the second part. The second part is, however, was good but it has some moments from the first one. Home Alone 3 and 4 is worse because of lack of originality and new actors. The actors in Home Alone 3 and 4 are.....meh...bad. So, in conclusion, Home Alone 1 is the best of all 4.

One of my favorite quotes from Home Alone 2 is an exerpt from a black and white movie (I don't know what the title is): "Merry Christmas, you filthy animal. And a happy New Year".

Well, in the first movie, the Johnny shot Snakes (the investigator)said, "Keep your change, you filthy animal". Kevin used that sequal at his house for scaring Marv and Harry away (Since they fooly reconize it as Kevin's father and they're trying to sneak in his house).

In the second sequel, Johnny shot the woman and said, "Merry Christmas, you filthy animal. And a happy New Year". Kevin used that sequal in the hotel to scare the servents.

So, the answer to your question is: that quote is in the second sequal.

I liked the first "Home Alone" best because it was so original and the casting was so perfect. You actually believed everything that happened. A young MacCaulay Culkin was perfectly cast as the boy left "Home Alone" accidentally. He became the 'man of the house' when the burglars tried to get in. I laughed and cried in this one.

"Home Alone 2" had its good points, but I think they overdid the idea with a third and fourth installment. Cute is cute - the first time.

The first, naturally.

Since favorite is only a relative term of comparing the Home Alone movies, I would choose the first one. That said, that means I could actually sit and watch the entire movie.

My favorite is definitely the first, and I've seen the second quite a few times. The third was a rental (or something we caught on TV), and was interesting, but not memorable as either a Home Alone movie or a holiday movie. Never saw the 4th (how's it related to 1 and 2?), but it seems pretty dull anyway.

I never expected Home Alone's "Family Fun" (what a ridiculous name!) Edition to have any serious bonus features. I simply must hear that audio commentary with Macaulay Culkin and Chris Columbus. And, am I mistaken, or is the DVD for the original Home Alone not the best picture quality? Something about it feels weird when I watch my housemate's HA DVD.

I liked the first one best. The second one was pretty good, but it was more like a rehash of the first movie. The third film is an abomination.

The entire Home Alone franchise is a textbook example of the Law of Diminishing Returns. I can tolerate Home Alone 2: Lost in New York upon certain days, but it's really not as good as the first one, and the least said about Home 3, the better.

I've actually only cared to see the first two so far, which I love. They are practically tied. I chose part two, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's cause of Tim Curry, maybe it's getting a limo and a pizza driving you to a huge toy story. I don't know, it was just awesome! But so was the first one! However, I like the old man in the first better than the old lady in the second, though both are good. It's a tough choice... I'm going with 2 for now though. Someday, I'll at least see part 3 as well.

I voted for the first one, but the third installment isn't far behind. Two was okay, but four was abyssimal. I can't believe the kid in the fourth one was supposed to be Kevin McCallister! How lame is that?

Really? Wow. That is both upsetting and making me curious at the same time, since I don't remember anything about the promos I've seen for the fourth one.

4TH was the best, oh wait I mean the 1st

There is NO question about it, the original Home Alone is the best! The original usually is the best, and I feel that it is in this case as well. However, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York was a very good sequel. I REFUSE to ever watch Home Alone 3 or 4. The idea of a movie being called Home Alone 3 with NONE of the same cast as the original two films seems absolutely rediculous to me. I HATE that they do that!

I think they've been playing part 3 on TV quite a bit lately (I seem to remember ads for it floating about). I caught a portion of it on TV just under a year ago and I have to admit, it was pretty good. Anyway, since I haven't seen it all, I can safely say what seemed to work well about those few scenes I saw (in their entirety) was that they didn't focus completely on Kevin. Or the family. That it was good at taking on several viewpoints and didn't completely (but, what's completely?) stereotype the people so that they could only function as 1 thing.

If I see another ad, I will remember to check it out. Yes, I will even sit through commercials. 'Tis the season, after all.
