I'm certainly willing to give this movie a chance, too; the new poster is pretty nice-looking. Seeing it makes me wonder, though... are the helicoptors and airplanes intelligent as well? If not, then who's flying them?
they are!!
the movie rocked!! i must say.
i went with my dad's business partrners to see it.

loved it!!!
It's cool you got to attend such an early screening. Glad to hear you liked it.

Perhaps the movie should've been called Vehicles instead, though; if indeed cars aren't the only intelligent mode of transport. Seems like kind of a discriminatory policy against the flyers.

Magic? Haven't you ever seen Knight Rider? The cars are A.I.

Are the characters any good. Do you feel for them?
After finding nemo and the incredibles and seeying this picture i have no doubt it will look very good. But i always wondered how appealing talking cars could be to the viewer..Much easier to feel for humans or animals..or even robots...

While the poster definitely grabs my attention...I cannot honestly say that I am looking forward to this movie as much as all the previous Pixar films. To me, the idea of talking cars is little too forced....like a 2-hour chevron commercial.

I will definitely go see it out of pure faith in Pixar, but I just don't know...is this movie gonna be more action like The Incredibles, or more comdey, like all the other movies? I think that balance was successfully tilted in The Incredibles, but I'm not sure it would work again...

But Larry the Cable Guy is cast (yay!), so who knows...

Any movie you see is based on human emotion. Animals don't talk, and robots definitely don't have a sense of humor. I don't see what the difference between a talking car or a talking action figure is myself. They're all human stories in the end. I mean, when was the last time you saw a Mr. Potato Head getting married and being nitpicked by his overly protective wife?

...I thought so. :P

OK seriously after 10 minutes you forget you are looking at cars - trust me I was thinking the same thing but I forgot they were cars up until they were "hungry" and had to get gas and then I said ..oh right they're cars.... lol

The only thing I hated is the voice of Wilson I hate that guy a specially his voice.

The movie is full of great cinematography, the way the shot the cars driving everywhere there was a lot more attention to the scenery then any previous cgi movie before - I was stunt!!

I can't really compare it to any other Pixar movie it's extremely American, human more then you can ever imagine and the makers of this movie's passion for cars is all over this awesome film.

DisneZ wasn't asking if the characters were believable. I may be wrong, but I think he was asking if the movie makes the characters real to the viewer, if watching the movie makes you care for the characters like you would for people in real life. It's a skill to make a CG creation believable, it's a talent to make that creation lovable. Woody isn't a great character because he's a toy that moves like we do, he's a great character because of the heart that was poured into him. Pixar has always pulled that emotion off in their past movies, and I, along with many others I'm sure, am eagerly waiting to see if the same can happen for a group of automobiles.

EDIT: thanks for the information, lighthousemike! I'm even more excited now...

Yes I loved all of the characters even Wilson's one - I never want to know who's doing the voice over, this time they told us the names before the movie was screened so it was in my head but still you really cheer for them and want them to fall in love, win the race and that ugly ass pickup dude lol he was so funny.

That's a Great poster! I think this is going to be one of the finer Pixar movies. I don't know why?
Anyway, the movie sounds really cool. When does it come out?
This summer?

he has a great voice for voice acting. I find him annoying too but his voice matches the character design completely.

Truth be told, I'm one of the minority who has been looking forward to Cars since November 5, 2004(The day "The Incredibles" came out).

I don't know, but a story about talking Cars has always sounded awesome to me. I don't know, lets just say I'm fond of those Cheveron commercials! :D Plus Owen Wilson also has got me excited since I find him hilarious on almost everything I've seen with him!

As for the poster, it's okay. A bit too crowded for my likings though.

Owen Wilson has teamed up with Disney TONS of times! Ever heard of the Shanghi movies?
