Well I finally got around to watching The Black Hole in its entirety, and suffice it to say, I was thoroughly enjoyed by it. I really don't know what it was that appealed to me. Maybe the story, maybe the visuals (which truly are breathtaking), maybe the hokey headscratching ending.

The human crew and Dr. Reinhardt could have been improved upon in writing stages, as they came off as rather dull people. Pizer seemed to be the only one who was enjoying making the movie. And ESP with a robot? Inconceivable!

Maximilian the killer robot was such a joke, but then again, I really should take into consideration the time the movie was made. Vincent and Old Bob were rather enjoyable, though Old Bob's accent started to get a bit annoying.

The sentry robots looked like some hybrid between Cylons and storm troopers.

The action figureslook fun, though. If only I were around back then!

Well, I'm sorry, but I really enjoyed the black hole. Granted that I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but still, it served it's purpose and it's target audience by entertaining me. I'm sure that I would enjoy watching it today as well.

As for Condorman, I loved that movie! again, as a kid -- and I haven't seen it since, but I don't know why such a drastic statement about how awful these movies are has to be made. I mean, if you don't like them, fine. Then don't see those kinds of movies. But I'd be happy to show them to my kids too because I know they'd like them.

Heck, I even really enjoyed the Unidentified Flying Oddball, but from the sound of it, you guys probably don't like that one either. And that's one that I have re-watched lately with my kids and I still got a kick out of it. Sure, I'm a bit more sophisticated now than I was when I first saw it as a kid, but heck...

^ That was a good read- thanks for sharing it! I think The Black Hole fits right in with Disney's darker films of that period that I'm a fan of (Something Wicked..., TBC, Return to Oz, and Watcher in the Woods, which I'm not so keen on). It has suspense and while it isn't Star Wars, it's a good movie on its own merits.
